Community Outreach Coordinator
ANERA is an international, non-profit, non-governmental organization implementing infrastructure projects in the West Bank and Gaza. ANERA is recruiting for a number of vacancies to serve under its newly awarded Palestinian Community Infrastructure Development (PCID) Program, a five-year USAIDfunded program to be based in its various area offices as follows:
Community Outreach Coordinator – Hebron
General Roles and Responsibilities:
-Participating in needs assessments with the Gender Coordinator, local community representatives, and infrastructure engineers.
-Gathering baseline data about targeted communities before, during and after implementation of projects, noting project impacts.
-Coordinate community gathering event with the village councilor and the mayors of different municipalities.
-Frequent travel to communities throughout the area, meeting with community representatives.
-In coordination with the Gender Coordinator, mobilizing local communities, and encouraging the participation of women, youth, disabled people and other marginalized groups in project identification and implementation.
-Maintaining good relationships with local communities.
-In coordination with the PR Unit, assisting in the creation/launch of public awareness/ education campaigns within the targeted communities.
-Assisting the PR Unit to photograph all phases of project implementation as well as project beneficiaries.
-Assisting the PR Unit by identifying and coordinating with relevant community representatives prior to and during public events and for other PR activities such as video productions.
-Contributing to project proposals, progress reports, and other reporting materials as may be necessary and frequently requested.
Qualifications:
-An undergraduate degree in Social Studies or related fields, with a minimum of 4-5 years experience in successful community outreach, recruitment and/or volunteer coordination, preferably with a background in international organizations.
-A motivated, outgoing personality with experience in recognizing and addressing isolated/marginalized groups’ community issues and needs related to project implementation in the project area.
-Previous exposure to Monitoring and Reporting practices.
-Creative thinking; knowledge of Communications and PR campaigns, events and tools.
-Excellent public speaking and presentation skills and an ability to connect with others and forge good relationships.
-Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office Applications, as well as Internet research abilities. Knowledge of SPDD would be desirable.
-Arabic and English fluency (both oral and written) is essential. Excellent reporting skills are a must.
-Ability to organize and maintain detailed records; complete necessary paperwork and meet deadlines.
-An expressed interest in international development through coursework, travel, and/or internship/professional experience is desirable.
-Possession of a clean driving license, in addition to a good geographical knowledge of the area.
