Construction Projects Manager

Islamic Relief is a humanitarian INGO (www.irpal.ps) operating in Palestine in the fields of emergency relief and long-term development. Islamic Relief announces the following vacancy for its office in Gaza.

Title:Construction Projects Manager.
Ref:CPM-C-07-2012.
Location: Gaza Office.
Contract:Full time

Overall Responsibilities:
Under the guidance of the Head of Programmes, the Construction Projects Manageris to be responsible for the overall implementation of construction projects in Gaza, prepare work plans and time schedules for projectsactivities, manage and supervise engineering staff in the field  of schools, houses, clinics, kindergartens, hospitals, etc., assist the engineering team technically, coordinate with relevant institutions, writing reports to donors, review tender documents, participate in selection of contractors …etc.

Candidates must possess the following competencies:
-University degree in civil or architecturalengineering.
-15 years of related experience as a project manager, preferably in rehabilitation of schools, houses, clinics, kindergartens, hospitals.
-Preferably working experience at International NGOs.
-Excellent knowledge of project management, principles and practices.
-Experienceof effective management.               
-Excellent technical writing skills.
-Interpersonal skills and good communication skills
-Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet and MS project.
-Fluent  English (written and spoken)
