CALL OF PROPOSAL FOR TRAINING CONSULTANCY
Consultancy for training in PEER SUPPORT GROUP INTERVENTIONS
With children, teenagers and adults,

1-Context
Médecins du Monde (MDM) France is an international medical organization, which has been present in the occupied Palestinian territory since 1995. It operates in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank through offices located in Jerusalem, Gaza and Nablus.
Project background:
MDM is implementing a project in 27 communities in Nablus, Salfit and Qalquilia Governorates that has as objective to mitigate the impact of settlers violence in the mental health and the psychosocial wellbeing of the population. The intervention includes among other activities, emergency MHPSS (Mental Health Psycho Social Support) after critical events as well as resilience based peer support group sessions for children, teenagers, women and men.
This training will specifically focus on the above mentioned peer support group activities.
2-Objective of Consultancy
The main objective of this consultancy is to provide training to MDM MHPSS team (7MHPSS workers). By the end of the training they should be better equipped to:
1-Facilitate peer group sessions with children, teenagers, women and men;
2-Use the existing actual guidelines for children, teenagers, women and men for facilitating group sessions, as a flexible tool, which should be adapted to the particularities of the group
Methodology:
The methodology to be used during the training should be participative and interactive with key theoretical input. The consultant is expected to work in collaboration with the Mental Health Coordinator (clinical psychologist). He is expected to facilitate the sessions in Arabic.
Tasks
1-To do Pre-training needs assessment by meeting the trainees and observing the implementation of 2 group sessions.
2-To develop the training kit including draft of agenda, presentations to be used during the training sessions and evaluation tools (pre and posttest)
3-To conduct training/facilitate the sessions (6 training days from 9:00-16:00 in the last 2 weeks of April)
4-To prepare a final report after the training
5-Preparation of a Manual about Peer support group facilitation.

Products (all the documents in English)
1-Pre-training needs assessment report (3 pages) including specific needs identified, expectations, changes or recommendations to include or change in the initial agenda.
2-Training kit including: Pre and post test to evaluate the results of the training according to the objectives, Presentations, final agenda.
3-Training report including: Brief description of the training (objectives, methodology), Results of pre and post tests, Achievements (Acquired skills), Challenges and recommendations for further training sessions (skills to be improved, further needs).
4-Peer support group manual for facilitators (adapted to the needs of MdM staff and describing the specific tools and techniques taught during the training).
Management:
Within the framework of the service provision, the consultant will be asked to collaborate with MDM F Mental Health Coordinator, Nablus Field coordinator and Program Manager who will be the focal contact persons for this services support and follow up. This collaboration includes at least:
Initial meeting with the Mental Health coordinator to clarify the objectives of the training and to get information about MdM Nablus MHPSS strategy and program.
Presentation of the training kit to the Mental Health Coordinator and inclusion of his feedback in the kit
Presentation of the Manual draft to the Mental Health coordinator for feedback and validation
3-Profile
MDM is looking for qualified service providers (individuals and/or organizations) with the following characteristics:
An advanced degree in clinical psychology, or alternatively social sciences or in any other relevant field;
Trained in systemic psychotherapy/group counseling and/or group dynamics required
Valuable experience in training and supervising social workers and psychologists (at least 5 years)
Valuable Experience in facilitating peer support groups and/or group counseling
Demonstrate experience in designing training agenda, deliver accurate group presentations, manage group dynamics and enable groups to learn together based on their field experiences.
Previous work experience with international organisations
Knowledge of MHPSS international guidelines
Strong communication and facilitation skills
Excellent writing skills Arabic and English
Knowledge of context and cultural aspects
