The Development section at the Representative office in Ramallah is seeking to hire a Consultant in Gender Equality. The Consultant will be tasked to provide technical advice and support in relation to specific projects focusing on gender equality results; support program-level gender analysis, monitoring and information exchange pertaining to the Canadian International Development Agency( CIDA’s) programming in West Bank and Gaza; and develop and maintain information resources to address gender equality issues.
The successful candidate should have the following qualifications:
Education:
University degree from a recognized university in International Development Studies, Gender Equality, Women issues, Social Sciences, or other relevant fields.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years’ experience working on Gender Equality and development support to women.
Experience in analysis and reporting on issues related Gender Equality in the West Bank and Gaza.
Knowledge:
Good knowledge of development issues and reforms, gender equality principles and concepts, rights from a gender perspective, civil society and women organizations.
Language Requirements:
Fluency in English and Arabic (written and spoken).
Conditions of Consultancy:
The Consultant will be paid a daily rate upon completing a requested task and will be expected to use their own workspace and materials (ie. office space is not provided).
Level of Effort:
It is anticipated that the consultancy will require a level of effort of approximately 3-5 days a week for a period of up to 12 months.
