Consultant for Assessment and upgrading the MIS Program curriculum at PAUC
Background
Palestine Ahliya University college (PAUC) has received a grant from the Quality Improvement Fund – Ministry of Education and Higher Education and funded by the World Bank for the project entitled: Transition to Labor Market: Upgrading MIS Program. Accordingly, PAUC intends to apply part of this grant for the selection and employment of a highly qualified consultant/ consultancy team.
Qualifications and skills
PhD or Master degree in MIS, IS, IT or Business administration.
At least 5 years of relevant work experience with previous experience in conducting at least three similar assignments.
Good knowledge of the Palestinian and regional system of Education and private sector.
Ability to work independently and meet strict timelines.
Excellent written and spoken English skills with excellent report writing skills
Main tasks and responsibilities:
Prepare an appropriate methodology and working plan to conduct this assignment.
Review similar programs to identify best practices and benchmark in MIS teaching then assess the current PAUC student acquired skills thus to suggest concrete modifications.
Review and assess the current MIS program curriculum, facilities and teaching methods.
Conduct comprehensive Gap Analysis Study through program mapping exercise to identify the needed modifications and improvements for the MIS program at PAUC.
Provide model forms of 4 selected core course materials, including syllabus and course descriptions.
Present a draft of the final deliverables to assess, review and give their feedback before finalizing and submitting the last version of deliverables.
Lead the faculty members to use the modified curriculum to include innovative skills
Modify the developed courses after being tested based on students’ and staff feedback.
Deliverables
Approved methodology and working plan
Submit a gap analysis report that includes program mapping forms accompanied with a Mid progress report that explains the consultant’s achievements/challenges.
Upgrade 4 selected core courses plans; syllabus forms courses descriptions and ILOs.
Final Report documenting the whole curriculum upgrading process
Provide training to faculty members to use the modified curriculum
Time frame: 208 hours in eight months starting from January 2018 to August 2019
Contract type: lump sum contract.
