The Institute of Modern Media (IMM) of Al-Quds University invites applications from qualified candidates for the post of:

Consultant

With a grant from UNDEF the IMM is going to implement a project aiming at strengthening the media’s role as a democratic cornerstone through the enablement as well as encouragement of the practice of investigative reporting in Palestine, targeting different stakeholders, such as media students,
media outlets and CSOs.

Application Deadline : 31-May-2013
Type of Contract : approx. 4 months, project-bound
Languages Required : Arabic, English

Duties and Responsibilities
-Draft a curriculum and training manual on investigative reporting
-Consult with stakeholders such as media students, journalists and CSOs
-Supervise and evaluate production of investigative reports

Competencies
-Knowledge and expertise in theoretical and practical aspects of journalism
-Specialized knowledge on investigative reporting
-Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to negotiate between different stakeholders,
-Demonstrated ability work under pressure and to meet strict deadlines
-Excellent negotiation and representational skills
-Excellent organizational skills and ability to work effectively in a team

Required Skills and Experience
-At least MA in Journalism, Media Studies or related experience
-At least five (5) years of work experience in the journalistic field
-Teaching experience in an academic context and workshop setting
