The IRC launched an emergency response in oPt in 2023, responding to the catastrophic humanitarian situation in Gaza. Prior to October 7th, in June 2023, we conducted a scoping mission to oPt, in the West Bank, and subsequently developed a strategic plan to initiate programming in the West Bank. Since then, and in the context of catastrophic fighting and renewed violence, the IRC has initiated an emergency response in Gaza and developed a response plan with partners which includes Gaza and the West Bank. Implementing a diverse, integrated program of health, protection, cash, and scaling up in WASH and nutrition, these programs prioritize local partnerships with both public institutions and civil society, and span emergency, humanitarian, recovery, and development modalities, while serving vulnerable Palestinians in oPt.

Position overview

Under the direct supervision of the Sr. SC Officer, performs the tasks of cleaning IRC Guesthouse and cooking for the IRC staff. They tidy workspaces in the office and all Guesthouse premises to ensure cleanliness, hygiene, and a pleasant environment.

Major responsibilities:

Office Support & Cleaning

• Opens and closes the office daily at a specific time

• Greets visitors

• Keeps a record of Guest house supplies and office supplies.

• Monitors the use of different equipment & supplies in the office.

• Manages inventory of cleaning supplies under the direct supervisor's guidance

• Reports to SCO if there is any issue with the office and guest house equipment

• Assists staff with photocopy, scan & printing when required

• Cleans office space, including desks and interior of cabinets

• Cleans all Guesthouse premises including equipment, furniture, assets

• Cleans washrooms & kitchen

• Sanitizes and cleanses bathrooms and lavatories

• Cleans windows, balconies, rooms, and external premises of the Guesthouse

• Ensures all utensils are hygienic

• Ensures each bathroom is stocked with toilet paper, soap, and hand towels

• Empties waste receptacles

Cooking & Food Supply:

• Provides cooking service and local food for the staff

• Provides coffee breaks for the staff during office hours.

• Provides food supply from the local market for cooking

Job Requirements

Requirements:

• Experience cooking local and Western food

• Basic Experience\knowledge in using office equipment (Printer, Copier, Scanner, Projector, etc.)

• Clear idea about office cleaning methods.

• Ability to work harmoniously with other staff members in cross-cultural contexts.

• Communication skills in English are preferred
