Coordinating Assistant
The Women’s Centre for Legal Aid and Counseling (WCLAC), an independent Palestinian organization established in 1991; is seeking for a position of Coordinating Assistant on behalf of the Arab States Feminist CSOs Network.
The Coordinating Assistant will assist the network to achieve its goals and create a strong regional voice and agency for Arab women to advocate for the redress gender inequalities in the Arab region; through undertaking the following duties and responsibilities:
Job title: Coordinating Assistant
Reporting to: Steering Group of Arab CSOs represented by the Co-Conveners (Ms. Fatemah Khafaja & Ms. Randa Siniora)
Location: Any country of the MENA Region preferably Palestine, Jordan or Egypt.
Type of Contract: Special Contract for six months renewable another six months.
Main duties and responsibilities:
Support strengthening of institutional structures of the network, including helping in resource mobilization efforts for long-term sustainability, including:
- Collect, register and maintain all information on the network’s projects’ activities
- Share information, studies and knowledge regularly with the network members and keep updated lists of all member CSOs in the network and focus of their work
- Contribute to the preparation of all progress reports and maintaining a reporting schedule
- Call for zoom meetings, prepare agendas and routine correspondence and draft minutes
- Assist in fundraising activities, proposal-writing, documentation sharing and communication with partners.
- Provide support to consultants in the implementation of their assignments
- Assist in the preparation of payment requests and follow up on timely disbursement
- Monitor projects’ budgets and financial expenditure and maintain proper record of approved projects’ budgets and their revision and submit budget status reports
- Provide the social media specialist with ideas for increasing the network visibility
- Develop and sustain strong partnership relations with members of the network by responding as much as possible to their demands of documents, studies, information and linking them to proper sources of information and of contacts.
- Identify new CSOs from all Arab countries that can join the network and encourage them to submit the necessary information required to be accepted as members of the network
- Review regularly with the steering committee of the network progress of work as well as discuss any challenges faced
- Manage and coordinate contributions to the Network, financial and otherwise
- Co-Conveners and members of the Steering Group can request certain tasks from the Administrative Coordinator directly

Professional Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor degree in Social Sciences or any related field
- At least three years’ experience in the related field and with civil society organizations
- Excellent English and Arabic command, native speaker standard
- Experience and interest, knowledge and commitment to feminist’s visions and aware of gender-related issues and problems faced by women in the region
- Interest and commitments to the empowerment of women and knowledge of gender issues
- Strong written and oral communication skills

- Ability to maintain networks and partnerships with partner CSOs
- Planning, networking and outreach skills
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining professionalism.
- Computer (MS-Office including MS-Project).
