Job Description
The Political, Economic and Public Affairs (PERPA) section of the Canadian
Representative Office in Ramallah is seeking to hire a qualified candidate for the full-time position of Coordinator & Analyst. Under the general supervision of the Counsellor (Political), the position coordinates PERPA programmes, such as public affairs, la Francophonie, trade, education; carries out research and analyses on topics and issues relevant to PERPA programmes; monitors and reports on political and economic developments; and performs other tasks as required.
Essential Qualifications:
Education: University degree in political science, international relations, international development and/or project management.
Experience: 2-3 years of experience in an NGO, INGO, international or governmental organisation in a relevant field. Previous experience working in a diplomatic mission is preferable.
Languages: Proficiency in English (spoken, written), French (spoken only) and Arabic (spoken, written). Skills will be tested.
Other:
-Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and produce summary narrative and financial reports.
-Excellent computer skills in Windows environment. Including Word and Excel, as well as skills in database management and record keeping.
Conditions of Employment:
Ability to obtain and maintain a Government of Canada Enhanced Reliability Security Clearance;
Legal ability to work in Israel and travel throughout Israel, the West Bank and Gaza;
Ability to work overtime, sometimes on short notice.
