For the AQB/MAT
The Coordinator Recruitment & Student Life at he AQB College and the MAT program is responsible for all aspects of recruitment and student life. The Coordinator handles the organization of recruitment campaigns, scheduling of school visits, expos, communication with local ministries, school principals, teachers and counselors. She or he oversees the drafting of recruitment materials, design and printing, the coordination of student ambassadors, communication with students and parents. Finally, the officer works with the IT coordinator, who oversees the maintenance of the college website and Facebook account. As Coordinator of Student Life, she or he is responsible for overseeing all student-related services at the undergraduate College. The Coordinator of Recruitment and Student Life report to the Dean and Associate Dean.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The specific responsibilities of the position are as follows:
RECRUITMENT
To create recruitment campaign theme including concepts for ads, flyers, brochures, and website content.
To make all needed contacts with and schedule visits to school principals, ministry of education officials, school teachers, students, youth and women centers. Make all necessary follow-up with these contacts.
To create work plan for campaign with set deadlines and budget.
To coordinate visits by faculty, Student Ambassadors, and relevant staff to expos, schools, community and youth
centers.
To network and maintain a close relationship with PR office at AQU
To work closely with AQB Manager of Finance
To follow up on recruitment campaign details: printing, delivery of printed materials; assemble and distribute information packets.
To manage all mailings to school principals, officials and community center managers.
To follow up with interested students by phone and email
To generate database of interested students, institutions, etc.
To participate in admissions activity as needed
To organize a database of all accepted students
STUDENT LIFE
To serve as Liaison between the AQB/ and the AQU Student Council
To coordination of student clubs and activities
To coordinating and managing student-initiated social and academic events, including oversight of student generated budgets for clubs, activities and all types of social and academic events
To establish, consult and advise the AQB Student Council in their ongoing work, special projects and initiatives
To coordinate and moderate the relationship between the Student Council and the Faculty Council
To organize and coordinate non-student initiatives that involve student participation (e.g. visits by Bard representatives that include meetings with students)
To work on public relations with students and keeping the College’s public relations apprised of student life
To foster student intellectual life, including working with program Heads to coordinate lecture series, seminars and any other extra-curricular activities such as guest lecture or training organized by the faculty for the student body
To provide basic student services, such as guidance and support on issues of time-management, coordination with academic advisors, referral to counselors, etc.
To oversee students on academic probation – to follow up with these students to make sure that they are on the right track to good academic standing
To provide counseling and coordinate the Community Service work program which is a requirement for graduation for all students
