AlNayzak Organization is a Palestinian non-profit, non- partisan, and unique organization that looks for young talents in science, technology, entrepreneurship, engineering, and math (STEEM), and plants an ambitious vision in the hearts of our community: “An Innovative Palestinian society, capable of producing original scientific knowledge, integrated with sustainable development”.
Horizons Academy is a Palestinian initiative supporting young gifted high school students by equipping them with the necessary knowledge and tools to succeed in obtaining a scholarship and competing for admission to top worldwide universities. 
 
Position Definition:
The announced position is in charge of guiding Horizons students through the college admission process through a student-centered counselling and mentoring approach. By providing academical and educational assistance to students, the counselor/mentor must be able to help them identify and address their academic and developmental needs. Must be able to interact effectively with 14 to 18 years old students and their parents/families so that they can prepare and compete for the university admissions. 
 
Roles and responsibilities:
  • Offer academic and interpersonal guidance to Horizons Academy students.
  • Work with students (14-18 Years old) to define their goals and gain insight about their future chosen major/career.
  • Create a tailored academic growth plan with every student and their guardians to keep them on the right track.
  • Meet and follow-up with students and their guardians regularly to ensure academic progress through groups and induvial sessions.
  • Deliver a variety of academic workshops and trainings to Horizons students as needed.
  • Fill and complete a quarterly progress report per student to discuss with Horizons Academy team.

Job Requirements
Minimum requirements
  •  Bachelor's degree from (USA, Canada, UK, Europe and international).
  •  Proof of English Language Proficiency language, must provide a certificate (IELTS, TOFFEL...or Equivalent).
  • 3 years’ experience in relevant field (counselling, mentorship, teaching).
Minimum Skills and attributes
  • Ability to work with students between 14 to 18 years of age.
  • Write reports in both languages (Arabic and English).
  • Excellent Research skills.
  • Logical thinking with creative problem-solving ability.
  • Planning and time management skills.
  • Excellent knowledge in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Team Player.
