 Job Description for “Credit Risk and portfolios Manager “

The Credit Risk and portfolios manager of DAMAN for SMEs will be responsible to review the loan portfolios presented by the MFIs to obtain the credit guarantee from DAMAN.

The Credit risk and portfolios manager will make sure that all the facilities guaranteed by DAMAN Comply with the policy of DAMAN.

The post will require an experienced credit risk and portfolios management professional with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a financial institution (Commercial banks and or MFIs). He /She should understand the processes of:

1. Credit Policy formulation
2. Credit Policy amendments, if and when required
3. Credit analysis
4. Credit approval
5. Credit operations
6. Credit maintenance
7. Credit Facility Documentation / all clauses and covenants
8. PMA regulations on credit
1. Limits
2. BIS calculations
3. IFRS 9 
4. PMA instructions on calculating provisions for doubtful debts
9. Risk / Return equation and credit pricing
10. Remedial management (non-performing loans)

This manager will be responsible for examining the relationship with the participating MFIs including their credit policies and the quality of assets they are asking Daman to extend their guarantee against.

He/She should be able to understand the concept of credit risk management and the process of diversification.

Every file should be examined to make sure that all the procedures have been complied with and the quality of the asset being guaranteed does not have above average risk due to intentional or unintentional mistakes.

This post should be a full-time job from the very beginning. Having trust in your participating MFIs ability and good well and intentions should not replace our Due Diligence and professional judgement.
