Crowd Controller

Position: Crowd Controller 

Type: Contract/Temp, On-site  

Location:  Gaza, Palestine  

Salary: ILS 2,016 per month  

Reporting to: MAP Medical Activity Supervisor  

Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) is a leading UK charity dedicated to improving the health and dignity of Palestinians affected by conflict, occupation, and displacement. With a focus on the occupied Palestinian territory and Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon, we provide vital health and medical care to those in need, particularly in crisis zones like Gaza. As part of our commitment to meeting the growing needs of the communities we serve, we're expanding our team.  

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the security and safety of designated areas by monitoring access, observing crowd behaviour, and implementing gender segregation protocols. The individual will manage public safety by organizing orderly lines and paying special attention to vulnerable groups. They are responsible for identifying security threats, maintaining effective communication, resolving conflicts, and executing emergency response plans. Collaboration with security authorities and the MAP field team is essential to maintain order and support the overall mission.

We’re looking for someone with experience in emergency response or related fields, with proficiency in crowd control and management techniques. The ideal candidate should be capable of executing emergency evacuation plans and knowledgeable about health and safety protocols for public gatherings. The candidate must be skilled in identifying suspicious behaviour, liaising with security authorities, and resolving conflicts. Additionally, they should be adept at implementing theft prevention measures.
