Introduction:
The AL-Quds University has received a grant from the Quality Improvement Fund (QIF) - Education to Work Transition Project - Ministry of Education and Higher Education and funded by the World Bank for the project entitled: Jerusalem Tourism Augmentation. Accordingly, Al-Quds University seeks the selection and employment of a Curriculum and Teaching Methodologies Reviewer to work in the project implementation.

Assignment Objective:
Al-Quds University is considering the selection of highly qualified expert consultant to be part of the consultation team, who will be responsible in reviewing and revising the current Computer Engineering curriculum and teaching methodologies including the private sector involvement.

The key output of the Curriculum and teaching methodologies reviewer Consultant is the revised curricula and guidelines for its delivery of a current CE Program.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities
-Review and revise the current curriculum of the Computer Engineering program including courses, credit hours, teaching methodologies and prerequisites in reference to international standards including IEEE, ABET, ACM, QAA, etc...
-Identify in depth the weaknesses and strengths of the current curriculum and perform in depth SWOT analysis of the current curriculum.
-Create a survey plan and conduct a comprehensive study about the needed competencies and skills by the local and regional market for the CE program
-Identify the required processes to determine interventions between the courses.
-Analyze learning needs to provide inputs for course content and/or design of technical subject matter.
-Identify the knowledge, understanding and skills Intended Learning Outcomes (ILOs) for all courses ( college and program requirements) in the curriculum.
-Review and revise the mission and vision of the program aligned with the university vision and mission
-Engaging stakeholders and key personnel from academic and private sector institutions (interviews, surveys, focus groups, etc... as needed)
-The consultant should consider the integration of the partnership model and on- the job learning in the curriculum.
-Identify Key Performance indicators I (KPI).
-Identify Teaching methodologies of similar academic programs at other comparable distinguished universities;
-Revise the course’s teaching model.

Deliverables:
-Submit an implementation plan.
-Comprehensive analysis report of the current curriculum with the recommended courses development plan. The report to be presented and discussed with the steering and technical committee, faculty members, specifically for the computer engineering department, to get approval.
-Revised courses, curricula and guidelines for Computer Engineering Program including recommended descriptions of a computer engineering program) core courses based on the needs and requirements of the labor market, global technological trends, etc.
-Final Comprehensive Report documenting the whole conducted activities including but not limited to: implemented activities, results, findings, proposed actions, current needs and lessons learnt also to include the following:

-Recommend ILOS modification if applicable for the whole program and each course.
-Recommended the program overall objectives, missions, and goals
-Recommended Courses’ teaching methodology
-Recommended Courses’ prerequisites.
-Recommended Courses’ assessment methods.
-Recommended Courses’ teaching model.
-KPI’s
-References

Essential Required Qualifications:
1-PhD in Computer related engineering fields.
2-Conducted at least three previous similar assignments in reviewing curriculum.
3-5 years of work experience in the teaching field.
4-Aware of the computer latest trends and technologies.
5-Fluency in English & Arabic.
6-Effective communication skills including verbal, written and presentation skills.
7-Strong commitment to work.
8-Proven ability to work effectively both independently and in a Team-Based environment.
9-Demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
10-Strong multi-tasking, interpersonal, management and organizational skills.

Place of Work:

The Consultant will work in Al-Quds University, Najjad Zeenni Faculty of Engineering buildings in Jerusalem – Abu-Dies.
Time Frame:The duration of the assignment ranges between March 2015 and May 2015. The Reviewer shall work for a minimum one month.

Contract Type: Lump Sum Contract.
