I-Background on ACTED
ACTED is an international NGO registered in France. ACTED’s vocation is to support vulnerable populations affected by wars, natural disasters and/or economic and social crises, and to accompany them in building a better future. ACTED started its activities in the occupied Palestinian territory (oPt) in May 2007. ACTED is currently implementing projects covering multiple humanitarian / development sectors, funded by of a variety of international donors, which aim at protecting vulnerable households and strengthening civil society actors across the oPt. ACTED oPt offers a dynamic, rigorous and knowledge-orientated working environment.

In the occupied Palestinian territory, ACTED is both committed to humanitarian assistance and long-term development. ACTED strives to strengthen the economic capacities of communities, consolidate civil society organisations, and provide emergency assistance to the most vulnerable, rural communities in the West Bank, East Jerusalem and Gaza. ACTED currently seeks a Database Assistant for its coming project in Gaza funded by BHA.

III-Position Profile
Database Management System Implementation
- Maintain Gaza’s project-specific databases;
- Code beneficiary registration tools for programme team as required;
- Ensure all data is entered and updated in the databases and tables;
- Check the quality of the data submitted by field staff;
- Liaise with field staff regarding missing data, eventual mistakes, data discrepancies and/or inconsistencies;
- Perform data cleaning when needed;
- Ensure proper filing of hard and soft copies of lists of beneficiaries or other data collection tools or documents;
- Maintain and further develop the structure or format of the databases as required;
- Implement proper backup, restore, data validation, and security procedures to ensure data integrity and availability;
- Provide database technical support to Acted teams, and troubleshoot both hardware and software issues.
Data Analysis
1. Support the MEAL and project teams to perform data analyses on project and M&E survey databases;
- Extract queries, figures, and reports from the database;
- Generate data visualization such as charts, graphs, tables to be included in communication tools, reports, assessments and any other documents as per needs.
Other
1. Provide regular and timely updates on progress and challenges to supervisors and other team members;
2. Participate in database-related workshops and meetings as required;
3. Perform any other related activities as assigned by immediate supervisor.

IV-Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, Community development,political science or any other related field.
- At least one year of experience in a similar position , preferred in INGOs
- Excellent computer and typing skills
- Ability to use Microsoft programs especially Excel and Word
- Knowledge in development and use of large databases
- Knowledge in data collection and in open-source softwares for collecting, managing, and using data (such as ODK or KoBo).
- Very Good in reading, writing and speaking both Arabic and English.
- Strong ability to take initiative, anticipate tasks, and manage tasks/teams independently.
- Ability to problem solve, be flexible, and manage multiple tasks at once
