Database Development & Maintenance Officer

Mercy Corps, an international non-governmental relief and development agency, is seeking candidates to fill multiple positions in the West Bank and Gaza, related to its Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) program supported by several different international donor agencies. The TVET program seeks to improve non-governmental technical and vocational education and training in the West Bank and Gaza. Mercy Corps’ program aims to strengthen youth employability and make technical and vocational careers viable livelihood options for Palestinian youth and focuses on knowledge-based sectors of economy.

Database Development & Maintenance Officer (Gaza)
The Database Development and Maintenance Officer develops and administers new and existing electronic systems for the storage and treatment of large amounts of data for the purpose of monitoring and evaluation (M&E) and payment processing related to the implementation of Mercy Corps’ programs in Gaza. Database Officer works with the M&E team to optimize the functioning of the systems, monitors data quality and accuracy and perform frequent database cleanups. The position requires a university degree in Computer Science, ICT, or other relevant field and a minimum of 3 years work experience. Proficiency in php/Mysql technology, HTML/CSS/Javascript, Ajax scripting, SQL queries, Object Pascal code, the Delphi6 Rapid Application Development environment, as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Arabic are required.
