THE ORGANIZATION

With over 30 years of experience, Handicap International (HI) is an independent and impartial aid organization, currently active in 60 countries, working in situations of poverty and exclusion, conflict and disaster. It works alongside people with disabilities (PwDs) and vulnerable populations, taking action and bearing witness in order to respond to their essential needs, improve their living conditions and promote respect for their dignity and fundamental rights.

HI has been present in the Middle East since 1987 and currently operates in Egypt, Iraq, Lebanon, Jordan and Palestine, with a regional office based in Amman, Jordan, and field offices in each country. In Palestine, HI has been active since 1996 and works in both Gaza and West Bank, through several projects funded by the European Commission (EC), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Luxembourg (MOFA Lux), the Canada Department of Foreign Affairs Trade and Development (DFATD), the French Development Agency (AFD), and Caritas Germany. It annual budget for 2014 is more than 1.5 million Euros, and it employs more than 20 nationals and one international staff, divided in 3 offices (Jerusalem, Ramallah and Gaza).


THE PROJECT

Handicap International launched emergency intervention in response to the crisis in Gaza due to the war in July 2014 which implies important volume of project data to be treated.


THE JOB

The Data Officer is responsible for the data entry, the data analysis and the quality of all data for the Emergency project.
1-Ensure that the beneficiary file are complete and well completed by the field team
2-Compiles all data entry from the individual assessment forms to follow up forms until discharge certificate in one data base and ensures the quality of the data entered

3-Analyzes data according to the Project Managers requests
4-In charge of filling the files when the file is complete

This list is not fully exhaustive. The Data Officer is expected to be flexible according to the projects needs and accept extra duties as per the demands of the Project.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE

Excellent word and data processing skills (Word, Excel, etc)
Excellent command of written and spoken English

DIPLOMAS REQUIRED and EXPERIENCE

Diploma:
No specific diploma request

Experiences:
Previous experience with INGO or within projects financed by international financial organizations;
Knowledge of excel and work
Knowledge of disability / vulnerability
Years of experience: 0 to 1 year

CONTRACT CONDITIONS
This fixed contract is for a period of three months for a starting date as soon as possible.
The salary will be defined regarding the HI salary scale on-going.
