Database Officer
For a period of 3 months
The Candidate will:
-Set up in close collaboration with the ACF team in Gaza and relevant local partner staff a database that allows for internal collection of data in a structured and consistent framework.
-Set up the needed Open Data Kit (ODK) system for different ACF activities as needed.
-Define database requirements by consulting data administrators and system users about the types of information needed (information on community, household, livestock, agricultural and market parameters).
-Determine how the existing or future data should be organized, who should have access to different data and how it should be displayed.
-Design final database determining how the existing or future data should be organized
-Set up archiving system which is in-line with project database for all the project documents.
-Provide feedback and technical support to the mission and other bases in developing the M&E system from a statistical data analysis standpoint.
-Analyze data and present results that allow Program Manager (PM) to recommend adjustment of specific project elements.
-Produce visual documents (map layouts, graphs) to be used for external communication (donor relations, proposals, reports, cluster support, etc).
-Determine how, who should have access to different data and how it should be displayed.
-Customize/maintain database according to the technical needs.
-Clarify technical capacities and identify required equipment, where to install (laptop, desktop etc).
-Provide adequate support in order to handover database management to ACF staff in Gaza.
-Write manuals or explain database's function for the users
Profile of the Candidate:
-Bachelor Degree in computer science, statistical studies or any other field related to Data Management.
-Experience of min three year in the field of Database Management.
-Professional experience year in a similar position in a NGO would be an advantage.
-Must be knowledgeable about programming languages and techniques as well as she/he must possess experience with hardware, software, and computer systems and processes.
-Proven implementation of database management in humanitarian field and M&E experience is an asset.
-High level of motivation, proactive and capacity to work in multidisciplinary and multicultural team
-Good communication, listening and writing skills.
-Flexibility and availability.
-Interest for humanitarian work and field work..
-Fluency in reading, writing and speaking Arabic and English.
-Fully proficient in MS-Office, Outlook and computer software and hardware.
-Able to work travel to Jerusalem and stay overnight.
