Deputy Director
Job Description
Palestine Governance Institute is a civil society organization whose mission is to improve in
the status of governance in Palestinian firms and business institutions. PGI is also targeted at
promoting modern corporate governance culture in Palestine. Financial and technical support for
PGI activities is solicited from some local and international partners.
PGI intends to recruit a Deputy Director, whose scope of work includes assisting the Director on
all administrative issues, and implementing PGI’s targeted activities.
Job description
Specifically, the Deputy Director is expected to engage in the following activities:
the status of governance in Palestinian firms and business institutions. PGI is also targeted at
promoting modern corporate governance culture in Palestine. Financial and technical support for
PGI activities is solicited from some local and international partners.
PGI intends to recruit a Deputy Director, whose scope of work includes assisting the Director on
all administrative issues, and implementing PGI’s targeted activities.
Job description
Specifically, the Deputy Director is expected to engage in the following activities:
Fresh BA graduates are advised not to apply.
1-Conducting interviews with senior private sector officials in the context of studies aimed at
assessing corporate governance in business firms and related institutions.
2-Organizing training workshops for board members and senior staff of business firms and institutions.
3-Convening awareness activities in selected locations, including chambers of commerce and
local universities.
4-Conducting critical reviews of legal and regulatory frameworks bearing on the Palestinian
private sector.
5-Writing reports on conducted activities, both in English and Arabic.
The Incumbent will report to PGI Director. He (or she) will be based in Ramallah, but expected to
travel frequently to other parts of the Palestinian territories. He (or she) is also expected to travel
abroad for training and networking purposes.
Desired qualifications
1-MA or Ph.D. in economics, business administration, accounting, or law.
2-Command of English, including writing skills.
3-Experience in conducting research and writing relevant reports Titles of written reports
should be listed in the CV, but short-listed applicants will be requested to present copies of their papers.
4-A minimum of five professional years of exposure on the Palestinian private sector in related areas.
5-Command of basic computer skills.
6-A valid driving license.
