Job Vacancy – Deputy Infrastructure Manager
CHF International is implementing a labor-intensive infrastructure/jobs creation program in the West Bank and Gaza with funding from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). This Emergency Jobs Program (EJP) will provide targeted skilled and unskilled emergency employment opportunities through small-scale, labor-intensive infrastructure projects in close collaboration with public and private sector entities, communities, and local organizations in the West Bank. CHF International, pending additional funding from the donor,
is seeking a qualified candidate to assume the following position:
Deputy Infrastructure Manager, Location: Ramallah, Duration: Up to 12 months
Responsibilities:
The Deputy Infrastructure Manager will be responsible for assisting the Infrastructure Manager and the Regional Engineers in ensuring quality of engineering designs and bill of quantities submitted by EJP’s beneficiary partners. He/she will work closely with EJP partners to ensure engineering designs and other project tender documents are of the highest quality, which would ensure efficient/effective and timely implementation of projects. He/she will review and evaluate all the environmental and disability assessment forms required for the project at an early stage after approval from USAID. He/she will also assist the Infrastructure Manager in tracking sub-contracts, reviewing and verifying payments and follow-up on other contractual issues related to project implementation and projects close out stage.
Key qualifications:
-A degree in Civil Engineering.
-At least 10 years of experience in infrastructure and community development programming, focusing on engineering designs and finalization of tender documents.
-Strong organizational, communication, and writing skills.
-Ability to multi-task and work in a team spirit, while remaining calm and professional.
-Excellent command of computer programs: AUTOCAD and other engineering software, Word, Excel, and Power Point.
-Prior experience with USAID-funded awards strongly preferred.
-Ability to work under pressure and willingness to travel frequently to various locations in the West Bank.
-Registered with the Engineers Association and has a valid driving license.
