Job Title:Director of Information Management Services

Job Summary:
Responsible for planning, organizing and directing functions of the Communication and Information
Management Services Department. Resolve complex organizational and technological problems. Oversee the department and annual budget. Follow correct policies, procedures and local regulations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Demonstrates Competency in the Following Areas:
Directs the functions of the Communication and Information Management Services Department, including information technology and telecommunications.

Develops, implements and evaluates information technology programs based on systems analysis.
Establishes policies and procedures for the procurement, installation and support of computers, application systems and communications and telecommunications systems.
Develops strategies for the Internet and Intranet.
Confers with administration and department managers to determine information technology and communication needs.
Aligns information technology with business needs.
Keeps up to date with current principles and practices, technology, regulations and standards that apply to healthcare, information technology and communications.
Demonstrates knowledge of software, mainframes, mini and micro computers, communication and telecommunication systems, database and networks.
Demonstrates thorough knowledge of state-of-the-art information technology applications used in the healthcare industry.
Knowledgeable of computer center operations and procedures and systems analysis.
Oversees all information technology projects including; design, plans, specifications, estimates, reports and recommendations.
Promotes good staff practices by maximizing the utilization of human resources; forecasts and anticipates the personnel needs of the department with regard to fluctuations in the projected workload; holds staff numbers at a functional minimum.

Demonstrates Competency in the Following Areas:

Consistently demonstrates the ability to establish appropriate department priorities.
Presents to the Governing Body and/or its committees periodic reports reflecting the activities of the Information Management Services Department.
Prepares, implements and monitors the department's budget.
Directs and evaluates the performance of the department's managers and staff.
Retains competent staff through interviewing, hiring and training.

Regulatory Requirements:
-Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology.
-Masters Degree preferred.
-Minimum of five (5) years experience in data processing, systems analysis, computer operations and programming, project management and supervision.

Language Skills:
-Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
-Excellent presentation skills.
-Additional languages preferred.

Skills required:
-Must have thorough knowledge of all aspects of computer systems, operations, programming languages, system analysis, design and equipment.
-Strong mathematical skills.
