Distribution Monitoring Officer -Food security project (Full Time)
HelpAge International is a global network of not-for-profit organisations with a vision of a world where older people fulfill their potential to lead active, dignified, healthy and secure lives.
HelpAge International started working in the Gaza Strip in February 2009 following the December 2008 – January 2009 conflict. It is providing a developmental capacity building of non-state actors in addition to a humanitarian response for older people including provision of food, psychosocial support, livelihoods support and physical rehabilitation.
HelpAge International will continue its care for old people through the project “Promoting food security for vulnerable older women and men (55 years old and over) and their families in Gaza strip, occupied Palestinian territory (oPt)”.
HelpAge seeks for one experienced committed professional for a full time post of “Distribution Monitoring Officer under a food security project”
Main responsibilities of the position:
-Design and conduct a continuous Post-Distribution Monitoring for individuals receiving HelpAge assistance through the project.
-Focus on three core aspects relating to HelpAge’s food distributions, namely, beneficiary targeting, beneficiary satisfaction, and the immediate impact of food assistance.
-Work to develop a monitoring system for the activities project, capturing progress towards project indicators.
-Conduct the regular visits to the projects’ targeted communities and meet with project beneficiaries
-Evaluate the implementation of distribution activities against HelpAge accountability guidelines
-Prepare the monitoring plan based on the Project’s performance management plan.
-Ensure that data is accurately tracked
-Establish the M&E databases
-Preparing to conduct the workshops and focus groups
-Experience in drafting and writing reports
Duration of the contract:8 months starting as of 15 October 2013 till 31 May 2014.
Main qualifications
-Minimum of a bachelors degree in a relevant field
-Previous work experience in a relevant field preferably in the field of food security and humanitarian aid.
-A minimum of 3 years of experience in monitoring and evaluation
-Has experience in house hold visiting, preferably with older people
-Professional level in both Arabic & English language skills.
-Experience in drafting and writing reports
-Ability to set up action plan and develop follow up tools for monitoring field work/plan.
-Proficiency in MS Office.
-Ability to use databases (including Microsoft Excel) to perform data entry, analysis, reporting, and troubleshooting
-Independent determined, motivated and commended Commitment.
-Excellent skills of communication, time management and conflict resolution.
-Ability to work under pressure and within a team.
-Has ability to move in all Gaza governorates (including buffer zone areas)
-Ability to start working immediately.
-Has a driver's license.
Desirable:
Knowledge and experience of aging and issues older people are facing
