Job Description
Postion Title: Design, Monitoring & Evaluation Coordinator
Postion Type: Regular Employment -full Time
Location: Gaza Office
Duration:One Year with possibility of extension.

Mercy Corps is a non-profit, non-governmental international humanitarian and development organization, registered in the United States and Scotland with offices in more than 40 countries around the world, including the West Bank and Gaza, where the organization has been active in implementing relief and development programs for over a decade. Mercy Corps ‘West Bank and Gaza’ has staff based in East Jerusalem and Gaza City offices that implement programs throughout the Palestinian territories.
The Design, Monitoring, Evaluation (DM&E) Coordinator will assist in the implementation and continuing improvement of monitoring and evaluation plans for a range of programs funded by a diverse set of donors. He/she will help to establish required M&E plans and systems, to develop tools for both monitoring and evaluation tools (in collaboration with programs), and to facilitate the collection and analysis of relevant data in order for the team to measure program progress and impact and help provide information to stakeholders for decision-making.
Main Responsibilities:
1-Assist in efforts and collaborate closely with colleagues in developing and establishing Monitoring and Evaluation plans and systems for various projects.
2-Perform regular monitoring activities according to schedule and adequately complete data collection.
3-Assist project teams and other report writers in the analysis and summary of data, and help ensure high-quality reporting for regular, interim and final reports for all programs.
4-Ensure monitoring and evaluation systems are well maintained and fully functioning throughout the projects’ duration and adjusted when required by changing program needs.
5-Help design relevant databases in collaboration with the database and program teams.
6-Participate in Mercy Corps’ online community for practitioners in the field and at HQ.
7-Regularly report on project implementation/ progress to the DME Officer.
8-Liaises and coordinates with other Mercy Corps departments as needed.
9-Performance of work beyond normal office hours as required, without additional compensation.
10-Conduct himself/herself both professionally and personally in such a manner as to bring credit to Mercy Corps and to not jeopardize its humanitarian mission.
11-Any other duties as required by the DME Officer and Senior DME Coordinator.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
The DME Coordinator has no supervisory responsibilities
ACCOUNTABILITY
REPORTS DIRECTLY TO: DM&E Officer
WORKS DIRECTLY WITH: Program teams, HR, Admin, Finance and Procurement staff
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
1-BA/BS degree in relevant field.
2-At least Two years of relevant work experience in M&E.
3-Practical and theoretical knowledge in program monitoring and data collection methods.
4-Understanding of the social, political, and economic context of Palestinian territories, especially in the Gaza Strip.
5-Good writing skills in English and Arabic.
6-Proficiency in MS Office. Excellent skills in statistics and SPSS.
