Médecins Sans Frontières “Doctors without Borders” is a private, non-profit international humanitarian organization dedicated to providing medical assistance to populations in crisis, without discrimination and regardless of race, religion, creed or political affiliation.

MSF-France is currently seeking to hire a Doctor Anaesthetist to support our activities in Gaza.
This position will initially be contracted for six months, renewable based on needs and activities.

Main Responsibilities:
Carry-out all anesthesia related activities during the pre-operative, peri-operative and post-operative periods to ensure safe, adequate anesthesia and recovery based upon MSF guidelines.
Advise on Postoperative care in both Intensive Care Unit and wards along with the surgeon and GPs.
Implement and supervise hygiene rules, procedures and MSF protocols in OT/recovery/anesthesia material to ensure the safety and protection of patients and staff.

Supervise the OT pharmacy (drugs orders, inventories, expired drugs) and ensure OT register, consumptions, empty narcotics register are filled and ensuring adequate stock is maintained.

Ensure good functioning and maintenance of OT equipment (oxygen extractor, ventilation, equipment, etc.)
Ensure proper fulfillment of administrative procedures and documents (fill in of patients files, forms, statistics, data base, etc.), and elaborate regular reporting about results, proceedings and problematic situations.

Requirements:
Medical Doctor Degree
Board certification and completion of specialist training in Anaesthesia essential
Experience in Anaesthesia for trauma surgery and training in ultrasound guided regional anaesthesia essential
Excellent English essential
Computer literacy essential
Flexibility, teamwork, excellent organisational skills
