Driver

The Representative Office of Switzerland in occupied Palestinian territory (SRO), through “Excellence Training & Consulting” as external recruiter, wishes to recruit a fulltime Driver, to safely operate vehicles of the SRO's fleet and to provide superior customer service to assigned routes.

The driver navigates residential environments, congested roadways, alleyways, and high traffic areas all while ensuring his or her driving and vehicle remains in compliance with local and FDFA (Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs) regulations, as well as SRO's standards.

The driver will execute missions in various areas where the SRO operates, e.g. Westbank, Gaza, Jerusalem, Israel, Jordan. The driver complies with the specific regulations of Directive 510 with respect to operate armoured vehicles.

The main tasks include:

Driving:

• Planning, preparation and executing of transportation missions (persons, goods, messages, etc).
• Assuring, during transportation missions, the security of persons (driver and passengers) and the SRO's assets, such as the vehicle itself, its load and luggage.
• Courteously interacting with customers, both internal and external, ensuring customers are serviced in a professional and timely manner.
• Executing messenger's tasks such as settling bills, collecting information, documents or goods, delivering documents and handling receipts. Checking on post office box.
• Ensuring diplomatic pouch transfers in due care and diligence.

 Maintenance, administration, controls, general support to the Representative Office:

• Performing pre- and post-trip inspection of vehicle, documenting and reporting any mechanical or safety issues.
• Executing maintenance duties according to instructions, fuel tanking, bringing vehicles to services providers, etc.
• General support to the Representative Office

Location

Mostly Ramallah, while starting and end point will be Jerusalem. Additional missions might include Westbank, Gaza, Israel, Jordan.

• Holder of Jerusalem ID.
• Valid driving license including heavy vehicles (C1);
• Perfect knowledge of driving rules and regulations;
• At least five years work experience as a driver
• Safe driving record and a clean driving license;
• Experience in driving various cars;
• Technical knowledge of vehicle repair and maintenance;
• Good knowledge of the West Bank, including East Jerusalem and road systems.
• Fluent in Arabic, good spoken English and Hebrew.
• Ready to work irregular hours, including at night and on week-ends, in case of need.

Salary range

The salary for this position is according to the salary scale of the organisation and is based on experience and qualifications.
