Project Summary:
Creative Associates seeks a Driver for the USAID-funded West Bank and Gaza (WBG) Basic Education Activity, which will strengthen education services for Palestinian children of KG 1 through Grade 6 that enable them to thrive and reach their full developmental potential. Under the Basic Education Activity, USAID seeks to work with the private sector, non-formal, non-governmental, community-based, UN, and civil society partners to strengthen early childhood and primary educational opportunities through high-quality early childhood education services and supplemental support structures to strengthen foundational pre-primary and primary education for children in the West Bank, Gaza, and East Jerusalem. Specific areas of focus anticipated include strengthening foundational skills in literacy, numeracy, social-emotional learning (SEL)/soft skills, building teacher and student resilience capabilities and assets, and strengthening pathways between non-formal to formal education.
Position Summary:
The Driver will provide transportation support to project staff. The Driver maintains project vehicles and logs of vehicle use, cleans, and follows up on vehicle services timeframe for the well-being of the vehicles in conformity with Creative’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
Reporting & Supervision:
The Driver will report to the Senior Safety and Security Officer.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Driving, maintaining, and servicing the project vehicles in keeping with the highest safety standards.
- Ensuring proper long-term and day-to-day maintenance of all vehicles, including checking oil and other fluids, battery, brakes, tires, and other critical equipment.
- Completing all required paperwork for inspection and maintenance of the vehicle(s), including fuel logs, service/maintenance logs/records, passenger waivers, and daily vehicle inspections.
- Performing pick-ups, deliveries, repairs, and making purchases of office supplies as directed by supervisor.
- Greeting and directing visitors.
- Arranging for the collection and delivery of mail or documents, as directed.
- Other duties as assigned by superiors within the driver’s capacity.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
- A high school diploma is required.
- Good knowledge of the West Bank and Jerusalem areas (cities and villages)
- At least 2 Years of prior experience as a driver is required.
- Valid driver’s license and excellent driving record.
- Ability to work independently with minimal or no supervision.
- Computer literacy and basic skills and qualifications in motor mechanics are added advantages.
- Proven punctuality ability to work as part of a team and excellent references are a must.
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity.
- Display cultural, gender, religion, and age sensitivity and adaptability.
