Economic Security Field Officer

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is an impartial, neutral and independent
organization whose exclusively humanitarian mission is to protect the lives and dignity of victims of
war and internal violence and to provide them with assistance.

The ICRC in Gaza is looking for a candidate to fill in the following post

Minimum Requirements of the Post
-Degree in Agricultural Economics, Agronomy, or BSc Agriculture
-Minimum 2 years work experience in a similar field
-Knowledge of Logistics frames & procedures and Program/Project Cycles
-Good analytical & report writing skills
-Good written and spoken English is essential - Computer knowledge Word and Excel
-Independent and self motivated as well as ability to work in a team
-Good knowledge of geographically assigned environment
-Respecting confidentiality, Flexibility, diplomacy and Negotiation skills
-Capable to interpret with accuracy and to translate documents from Arabic to English and reverse

Job description
-Is aware of socio-political situation and keep information up-to-date
-Assists and advises the expatriates in all relevant fields and acts as source of reference during
absences of the Economic Security delegate/Agro delegate
-Maintains and develops contacts with interlocutors in coordination with Ecosec /Agro Delegate
-Identifies areas of vulnerability and target population in coordination with Ecosec/Agro Delegate
-Assesses, implements, monitors and follows up EcoSec projects in coordination with the EcoSec/
Agro Delegate
-Proposes projects in line with the strategy of the delegation and ensures the writing of project
proposals in coordination with the Agro Delegate/HoO
-Collects information for general and ad hoc assessment, analyses and uses it in the light of the
delegation
