Job Requirements

Job Summary:

- Provide technical guidance and support for teachers in the regular schools and community centres to promote pedagogy for students with disabilities.
- Support special and inclusive education teachers to evaluate the educational abilities of children with different types of disabilities/difficulties, and set personalised educational goals.
- Assist special and inclusive education teachers to implement individual and group interventions for children with disabilities and ensure their achievement through continuous support and follow-up.
- Support special and inclusive education teachers to follow the progress of children at all levels and offer support and recommendations as appropriate.
- Support special and inclusive education teachers to meet the different individual needs of students with learning difficulties.
- Develop the abilities of teachers to promote inclusion, create inclusive environments for children with disabilities, and promote the involvement of families and relevant stakeholders in the educational process.
- Consult with all relevant specialists to develop the implemented interventions and support activities for children with disabilities in regular schools and community centres.
- Follow-up and evaluate the education practices, techniques, and ICT tools applied with children with disabilities in the regular schools and community centres and give instructions for improvement.
- Contribute to changing the negative attitudes towards persons with disabilities by family members and local communities and raise awareness on the right to equitable and inclusive education in the targeted communities.
- Assist in developing training materials and support guides using locally available resources and improve teaching and learning aids for students with disabilities.
- Contribute to the advocacy efforts of the CBR team to promote inclusion and right to education in the targeted communities.
- Participate in local groups and networks for supporting the right to education for people with disabilities.
- Assist in drafting reports and updates on progress toward and barriers to inclusion in regular schools and community centres, and identify key areas of improvement.
- Document daily work achievements on the online database of the CBR program and ensure that data is entered and revised on time.
- Write technical reports and meet reporting requirements based on the approved timeline and format.
- Participate in capacity-building activities and regular staff meetings.

Professional Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in education, special education, rehabilitation therapists, or social sciences from a recognized University.
- Proven experience of implementation of community-based education projects.
- Two years of relevant experience, especially within community-based organizations.
- Two years of experience in teaching children with disabilities.
- Knowledge of screening and early identification of disabilities.
- Knowledge and experience in teacher training in the areas of special and inclusive education
- Knowledge and skills in resource centres management.
- Ability to prepare teaching and learning materials
- Strong communication, presentation and reporting skills in Arabic and English.
- Ability and willingness to travel to the project sites.
- Ability to work with individuals from different backgrounds.
- Ability to cope with stress and work pressure.
- Ability to represent CBR in different forums.
- Strong computer skills.
- A valid driving license is preferable.
