Improvement of Tertiary Science Education

Al-Quds University, Birzeit University and UNRWA Education Science Faculty (hereafter, “the consortium”) has received a grant from the Quality Improvement Fund – Ministry of Education and Higher Education and Funded by the World Bank and EC, towards the cost of Improvement of Tertiary Science Education for Upper Basic School level project. The project aims at providing a continuing professional development opportunity to consortium institutions to develop a quality pre-service tertiary education for science teachers of upper basic school level. In specific, the project aims at paving the way towards establishing a pre-service e- enabled science education degree at Al-Quds University as well as enhancing the existing science education programat UNRWA. The consortium announces the following vacancies to be financed as part of the above mentioned project:

Minimum Requirements
1. At least Five years documented experience in developing e- enabled courses at school and/ or university levels
2. At least three years documented experience in mentoring and training on the e- enabled curricula design, development, delivery and evaluation.
3. A documented experience in conducting an advanced best practices training programs which include (needs assessment, training material design and development, training delivery and training evaluation.
4. Has at least a master degree in education or any other relevant field.
Responsibilities:
1. Design and develop training program aims at building the participants’ capacity in e- curricula design, development and delivery. The Training program should include the following(Training Objectives, Training Content, Training methodology framework, Training evaluation framework, Training design matrix /outline
2. Design and develop e- enabled training material installed on a virtual
learning environment targeting education specialists The training program should carefully designed to have the following main principles:
1. Adapting the e- enabled approach (blended model in e- learning) in training design, development and delivery.
2. Adapting the learners’ centric approach and the hand on techniques during the training program design and delivery.
3. Adapting the results based model in training evaluation
3. Delivery the training program through 20 seminars (face to face and online)each seminar is of 6 hours period.(120 hours )
4. Supervise the trainees (education specialists) in designing and developing e- enabled models (150 hours) to be sure that is the trainees able to:
• Identify how objectivist learning theories lead to directed technology integration strategies
• Identify how constructivist learning theories lead to Inquiry based technology integration strategies.
• Identify technology Integration Strategies as behaviorist, constructivist, or a combination of these.
• Distinguish between traditional assessment and authentic assessment
• Explain a moderator’s role in supporting online communication and learning.
