NRC advocates for the rights of displaced populations and offers assistance within the shelter, education, emergency food security, legal assistance, and water,sanitation and hygiene sectors.

The Norwegian Refugee Council has approximately 5000 committed and competent employees involved in projects across four continents. In addition, NRC runs one of the world’s largest standby rosters -NORCAP, with 650 professionals, ready to be deployed on 72 hours notice when a crisis occurs

Generic responsibilities

 
Ensure adherence with NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines

2-Implement delegated CC project  portfolio according to plan of action

3-Prepare and develop status reports as required by management

4-Ensure proper filing of documents
Ensure that projects target beneficiaries most in need, and explore and asses new and better ways to assist

6-Promote and share ideas for technical improvement

7-Any other task required by management

 

Specific responsibilities

1-Participate in team planning, regular meetings and M&E activities (including FGDs, pre-assessments in targeted schools, mid-year and final review, any other evaluations taking place during the course of the year etc.)

2-Ensure that all activities are carried out with the active inclusion of all community members ( especially girl children and adolescents, female and male parents, teaching and non-teaching staff and guardians and children with disabilities and special needs)

3-Minimum 80% (possibly four working days in the schools during their opening hours) of the time participating in project related field activities

4-Based on needs assessment results, work closely with school management and education team members on designing, planning and implementing communication and parental activities.

5-Prepare, deliver and follow up support activities and trainings to different beneficiaries (school teaching and non-teaching staff, MoEHE/UNRWA staff, parents, etc.) and any related awareness raising sessions based on the general approved plan.

6-Develop and implement activities to support and mentor teachers and non-teaching staff in collaboration with the education team by delivering training to school staff , following the implementation of the training package skills in the class room, participating in teachers planning when needed and discussing the follow up with school management.

7-Responsible for keeping accurate records of assessment, activities, and participation in school (number of beneficiaries, pictures, beneficiary feedback, activity budget tacking)

8-Responsible for reporting (weekly/monthly on area of responsibility) to line manager and technical officer when applicable

9-Raise purchase requisitions according to approved activity plan and budget and follow up with Technical Officer – where applicable or Project Coordinator on their delivery

10-Develop individual work plan to address the needs of the target groups.

11-Collaborate with partners on the implementation of approved activities and ensure their implementation in accordance with the agreed plan

12-IF APPLICABLE: Observe teachers’ performance to ensure quality education is implemented in schools, provide them with structured feedback and develop a training plan based on the gaps identified.

Personal qualities
-Bachelor’s degree in psychology or/and experience in working on psycho-education.
-Advanced degree in education or social science desirable.
-At least 3 years of experience in the field of psycho-education and or youth
-Relevant work experience especially with beneficiaries.
-Experience of and commitment to participatory approaches to aid and development.

 

Specific skills, knowledge and experience:
-Experience from working as a Project Officer in a humanitarian/recovery context
-Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
-Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
-Some knowledge of English
-Computer literacy.
