Education Programs Manager
AMIDEAST seeks to hire an Education Programs Manager. The Manager will be responsible for
managing educational programs and the PFDP grants programs. The Education Programs Manager will provide significant outreach and liaison for PFDP within the higher education system and the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, and may represent the program in key public fora. The Manager will work with senior staff from the Ministry and the institutions to prepare grant proposals and requests for training that are consistent with both institutional strategic plans and with the goals of the National Teacher Education Strategy. The Education Programs Manager will meet with university administrators such as academic vice-presidents, deans, and chairs of departments. The Education Programs Manager will be based in Ramallah and will report to the COP.

Responsibilities include the following:
-Provides advice regarding implementation of PFDP plans, programs, and activities;
-Assists in organizing executive roundtables and preparing concept papers;
-Organizes and chairs a Review Committee for PFDP grants;
-Conducts outreach for the PFDP with the higher education system, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, and related agencies;
-Manages the conceptualization and promotion process for PFDP grants in collaboration with the Grants Committee and PFDP staff;

Qualifications:
-Master’s Degree in appropriate discipline, PhD preferred;
-Ten years minimum relevant work experience in the development, education, or higher education sector, preferrably within the Palestinian education system;
-Knowledge of and/or experience in professional development, educational accreditation and
certification, Ministry of Education and Higher Education or faculties of education reform, National Standards, reform efforts, and USAID project work preferred;
-Understanding of the Palestinian educational context, the challenges to education system reform and imperatives for change, and change management;
-Excellent oral and written communication skills in Arabic and English;
-Excellent ICT skills including the use of email, word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation
software and use of the Internet.

This is a full-time position based in AMIDEAST’s Ramallah headquarters. Travel to all areas served by the PFDP program is required.
