The Norwegian Refugee Council is a non-governmental, humanitarian organization with 60 years of experience in helping to create a safer and more dignified life for refugees and internally displaced persons. We advocate for their rights and assist with shelter, education, food security, and information counselling & legal assistance.
NRC seeks:
Education Project Monitoring and Evaluation Officer (1 national staff position)

NRC works internationally in the field of education and intends to establish a new project to support UNRWA in the Gaza Strip. Following joint assessments/need analysis with UNRWA, NRC will engage where the greatest need is identified, for example, teacher-training; classroom management, special education, student councils, parent associations or recreational activities. In order to address children who have fallen behind in school structures, NRC is also examining the option of offering remedial and/or accelerated learning classes.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential
-Previous experience in establishing monitoring and evaluation systems from project inception.
-Experience of monitoring and evaluation in education projects
-Experience of and commitment to participatory approaches to monitoring and evaluation
-Experience with diverse research methodologies (using both quantitative and qualitative data)
-Commitment to the ideals of NRC including Education for All, child protection, inclusion and gender equality
-Ability to plan, organise and manage own time
-Good team working skills
-Good communication skills in both Arabic and English
-High levels of computer literacy including presentation skills
Desirable
-Ability to use Microsoft Access and/or other relevant programmes.
-Experience of working with or within the UNWRA system
-Experience of teaching, youth work and/or school management
