Educational Advising Program Assistant
Department: EducationUSA Advising Center, Amideast Al-Bireh, Ramallah District
Immediate Supervisor: EducationUSA West Bank Senior Educational Adviser
Working Hours: Part-time: 24 hours a week, 3 days/week 10am-6pm
Position Summary
The Educational Advising Program Assistant will be based at Amideast’s EducationUSA Advising Center in El-Bireh, Ramallah, West Bank, but will travel throughout the West Bank and East Jerusalem in support of EducationUSA outreach activities. S/he will receive administrative supervision and programmatic guidance from the West Bank Senior Educational Adviser.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with organizing and supporting EducationUSA programing including outreach visits and logistics for related events including workshops;
- Answer and respond to institutions and individual requests for EducationUSA information;
- Follow-up with EducationUSA advisees, members of the Competitive College Club, and Hope Fund candidates to support and ensure; timely completion and submission of required documents for the U.S. college application process;
- Assist with digital media outreach: update and monitor content calendar for EducationUSA West Bank social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, as well as organizing webinars and zoom sessions;
- Draft and update fact sheets and other information packages in Arabic and English;
- Participate in strategy discussions relating to promotion, outreach, and program activities;
- Compile minutes of meetings and document program activities when needed;
- Provide office clerical support and administrative assistance as required;
- Track the financial budget and program expenses;
- Prepare payments as needed;
- Maintain and report monthly statistics on center engagements for review and submission;
- Project a professional appearance, cooperative attitude and maintain high ethical standards;
- Perform other related duties as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, communications, marketing, education, or related field;
- TOEIC score of at least 790 and/or Pipplet Score of C1 or above, or equivalent
- At least two years of relevant work experience;
- Excellent written and spoken English and Arabic and strong public speaking skills;
- Ability to draft presentations and social media posts in both languages;
- Excellent communication and organizational skills;
- Excellent social media and technology skills;
- Ability to multi-task in a busy workplace environment;
- Detail-oriented;
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team and be self-directed and motivated;
- Positive attitude, and ability to work well with others;
Practical knowledge and work-related experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, MailChimp and G-Suite applications;
- Practical knowledge and work-related experience using social media platforms, specifically Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and Twitter.
Preferred:
- A graduate of a U.S. higher education institution and/or alumnus/alumna of a U.S. government sponsored exchange or other educational experience in the United States;
- Knowledge of or experience with guiding students in researching and applying to U.S. higher education opportunities
- Experience in social media outreach, e-marketing and videography
