Energy Efficiency Program in Strategic Sectors
The Palestinian Energy Authority (PEA) and the Energy Efficiency Directorate (EED/PEC) are currently seeking a highly motivated electrical and mechanical engineers for a full-time position at PEC's office in Ramallah to work on a project which aims at supporting energy efficiency in strategic sectors commercial, industrial, electric distribution, construction, etc…) in Palestine. This project will provide support (e.g. technical, administrative and financial) to implement energy efficiency upgrades.
This project’s focus is to reduce energy usage in municipal, commercial, industrial, etc… through
comprehensive energy audits and the delivery and installation of energy efficiency measures. The
project is financed by various donors including the French Development Agency (AFD) and FFEM.
This is a junior-level position, reporting to the EED Operation manager.
The two Engineers will be responsible to conduct a detailed Energy Audits in industrial and Public
sectors. Their responsibilities will be as follows:
-Creating a full energy audit process (including procedures, documentation, etc…)
-Conducting energy audits, including:
-Preparing audit quotes based on the type of audit required
-Identifying energy efficiency measures that can be implemented, taking the entire system into
account, rather than stand-alone individual equipment.
-Organizing the implementation of the audit
-Collecting data (including fieldwork and measurements)
-Analyzing the data collected
-Identifying potential energy conservation measures
-Analyzing saving potential and financial analysis
-Preparing the audit report and recommendations
-Presenting the report to the client
-Implementation and follow-up of saving measures
Qualifications:
-BS in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering (HVAC). Energy Engineering is an advantage.
-Recent graduate engineers are accepted
-Good knowledge of the energy sector. Knowledge of the Palestinian energy sector is an advantage.
-Ability to work as an integral part of a project team.
-Good command in Arabic and English, writing, reading and speaking.
-Strong communication skills, including analytical, technical writing and problem solving.
-Ability to communicate with individuals at all levels.
-Dynamic and strongly motivated.
-Computer skills and usage (Ms word, Excel, etc.)
-Must have membership from the Engineers Association
-Valid driving license.
