Export Promotion Specialist
Chemonics International seeks an Export Promotion Specialist for a newly awarded, USAID-funded project promoting economic growth in the West Bank and Gaza through expanded economic development, trade, commerce, and applied research. The five-year project has three main objectives:
- Objective 1: Facilitate Cooperative Exchange and Knowledge Sharing
- Objective 2: Foster New Markets
- Objective 3: Enhance the Capacity of Targeted Entities

The Export Promotion Specialist will lead efforts to identify new regional and international markets through export alliances and tradeshow participation. This individual will strengthen export support services for the Palestinian private sector, including working with service providers on service improvement.

Specific roles and responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Collaborate with partners to identify non-traditional or untapped markets for Palestinian goods and services
- Advise partners on conducting market opportunity analyses in the region
- Identify opportunities to leverage international agreements to access markets
- Support development and distribution of resources for firms on product import requirements in new markets
- Use iterative adaptation approach to identify marketing firm capacity gaps
- Through technical assistance or grants under contract, introduce and provide trainings on key e-commerce, digital marketing, and social media techniques to firms
- Coordinate and provide technical oversight for grants under contract related to export promotion and competitiveness
- Develop and disseminate an action plan for partners to assess and address trade corridor constraints.
- Ensure collaboration and coordination, sharing of information, needs, and progress across all functions and components of the project to implement as one team including but not limited to GESI, MEL, Communications, and all technical team leads.
- Contribute to and/or lead as assigned pitch decks, brief reports, and analysis for stakeholders,
- Contribute to and/or lead as assigned periodic planning documents, progress, and impact reports for USAID and other partners
- Operate with integrity and assurance of confidentiality, commitment to excellence, compliance with all USAID rules and regulations, contractual requirements, and Chemonics policies, systems, and value
- Contribute to and/or lead as assigned periodic planning documents, progress and impact reports for USAID
Basic qualifications include:
- B.A. in business, international trade, marketing, trade logistics, SME development, e-commerce or related field
- 5 years’ experience assisting businesses to access regional and international markets traditionally, like trade fair participation, facilitating linkages with export services providers, etc.
- Prior experience working directly for or consulting with private sector business, with focus on exports
- Demonstrated knowledge and familiarity with West Bank and Gaza’s operating environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with culturally diverse staff
- Fluency in Arabic and English required
