Save the Children is the world's leading independent organization for children. We work in almost 120 countries. We save children's lives; we fight for their rights; we help them fulfill their potential. We work to inspire breakthroughs in the way the world treats children and to achieve immediate and lasting change in their lives.
Our current program works in partnerships with local organizations to safeguard children’s rights, focused primarily in the areas of participation, education, livelihood, youth development, health and protection, civil society development, emergency response, and food security, SC has established strong partnerships with local and regional actors.

With funding from Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development (DFATD), Save the Children in close coordination with local partners implemented ““Improved access to protection and health services for children in the most vulnerable Palestinian communities, in the Gaza Strip” project. This project focuses on reducing and mitigating risks associated with conflict, addressing the lack of protection and health services, and improving community preparedness and risk mitigation. This should be achieved through a community based risk reduction approach which should have enhanced the resilience of the most vulnerable children in marginalized Palestinian communities in the Gaza Strip. The activities included in this project were designed to contribute to increasing access to child protection services by vulnerable boys and girls affected by psychosocial and/or child protection issues as well as increasing access to quality health services for children with chronic diseases and special needs. The integrated risk mitigation approach was designed to improve community preparedness and capacity to respond to humanitarian crisis – with a particular focus on reducing the protection and health risks faced by vulnerable children.
