Field Assistant
PREMIERE-URGENCE INTERNATIONALE (PUI) is an international, non-religious and non-profit French organization intervening in 20 countries worldwide to provide a global response on the fundamental needs to victims of humanitarian crisis from the emergency to the restoration of their autonomy and dignity.
The Field Assistant’s Role is to provide assistance to Senior Filed Officer (SFO) in the management of Income Generating Activity (IGA), Designated Emergency Shelter (DES) component & farmland rehabilitation, Shelter and Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) activities with effective coordination with protection and advocacy department.
Tasks and responsibilities:
-Assist in following up IGA, farming, Shelter, and WASH activities, and DES component:
Follow up IGA activities for women beneficiaries;
Develop Terms of References (ToRs); prepare and follow up of business training for IGA beneficiaries ;
Prepare contract agreements for IGA beneficiaries, and follow up disbursement of cash assistance;
Liaise with local community based organizations (CBOs) partners;
Assist in the advertising the activities (distribute flyers and announcements);ط Support the quality department in finalizing the list of beneficiaries for farmlands rehabilitation through checking the availability of land and irrigation water as well as getting the GPS coordinates of the plots.
Assist SFO in updating Project management tool,
Assist in checking the quality and quantity of the supplied agricultural inputs (germination tests, fertilizers quality, etc.).
Assist SFO in preparing/ organizing field visits for DES/ Shelter and WASH activities.
Assist SFO in preparing Bills of Quantities (BoQs) as required.
Participate in the GS office coordination meetings.
-Ensure efficient and effective coordination with protection and advocacy department:
Collaborate closely with protection and advocacy officer on identifying cases in need of specific intervention/ assistance;
Assist in conducting Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) for protection and advocacy purposes;
Identify success stories, and propose case studies to the Partnership Data analyst;
Assist in organizing meetings/ workshop for protection and advocacy activities as required;
-Effective participation in reporting and capitalization process:
Ensures qualitative and timely reporting process at internal levels: weekly & monthly;
Report daily when operational challenges/ constraints occur during field visits;
Document all Source of verifications (SoV) related to operations, scan and archive operation documents and participate in preparing binders,
Participate in efficient and effective manner in proposing new ideas and area of intervention;
Participate in the capitalization process through identifying best practices and lessons learned;
Assist in translating operational tools in collaboration with Administrative and finance manager.

Required knowledge and skills
- Bachelor degree preferably in the field of Social Development, Engineering, Project Management or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant working experience in related fields.
- Previous work experience with international INGOs will be preferred.
- Ability to influence and liaise effectively with key stakeholders, local authorities.
- Ability to work independently and as a collaborative team member.
- Ability to independently organize work and prioritize tasks.
- Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English.
- Professionalism, presentation, communication and networking skills.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to work with various partners, in a spirit of openness, and with adaptable communications strategies.
- Ability to write reports and follow-up execution of projects’ activities.
- Self-motivated, diplomat, honest, highly responsible, and punctual.
- Computer skills, in particular MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Project and the Internet.
