Field Coordinator, Improve Access to Educational Opportunities in Gaza Strip
International Orthodox Christian Charities (IOCC) is an international non-governmental
development and relief organisation, working worldwide to provide food, shelter, economic self-sufficiency, and hope. All assistance is provided on the basis of need alone. IOCC has been
present in Jerusalem, West Bank and Gaza (JWBG) since 1997 providing assistance to vulnerable
Palestinians and communities through various emergency relief and/or development programs.
IOCC is seeking highly skilled staff to be hired for the following position under Improve Access
to Educational Opportunities in Gaza Strip Program:
Field Coordinator, Improve Access to Educational Opportunities in Gaza Strip:
One position, duration around 12 months, renewable upon availability of funding.
Summary of the Position:
The Field Coordinator will work under the direction of the Project Officer of the Program:
“Improve Access to Educational Opportunities in Gaza Strip”; and the Program Director, IOCC
Gaza Field Office (GFO) in the management, implementation, supervision and monitoring of
IOCC-JWBG Program: Improve Access to Educational Opportunities in Gaza Strip. S/he will be
supervising the coordination, logistical, administrative, and technical components of the work,
and IOCC partners, at the field level.
Key Responsibilities:
These will include, but are not limited, to the following:
• Under the direct supervision and close coordination with Project Officer – IOCC-GFO
Improve Access to Educational Opportunities in Gaza Strip Program, lead the
implementation of IOCC Program: Improve Access to Educational Opportunities in Gaza
Strip, in accordance with grants agreements and with full compliance to IOCC and donor
regulations.
• Perform the assigned tasks including coordination with local partner organizations,
identification and assessment of their needs, supervise and document the
implementation of the program activities at partner Community-Based Organizations
(CBOs) locations as planned and scheduled.
• Supervise and document, through conducting field mentoring visits and activities to
partner CBOs locations to ensure the full compliance of the partner CBOs with the terms
of cooperation agreements, as well as, the full implementation of community-education
services that have been agreed upon with partner organizations.
• As directed/requested, to take part in the monitoring and evaluation process of the
Improve Access to Educational Opportunities in Gaza Strip Program, including Pre and
post and impact assessments of the partner CBOs, and their beneficiaries supported
through the program.
• Provide the Project Officer with daily field reports.
• Commitment to offer more volunteer time dedicated for work purposes, if needed.
• As directed/requested, to provide data and information necessary for the preparation
and provision of program reports, success stories, tracking all implementation.

Knowledge and Skills: Community work technical and social work skills; interpersonal
communication skills; advanced verbal communication skills; fluency in Arabic and English;
presentation and tutoring skills, computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Windows package;
and good reporting skills.
Competencies: Ability to build strong personal and community relationships with all program
stakeholders and beneficiaries, partner organization and other contacts; sensitivity to cultural
conditions and practices; tenacity in observing procedures, regulations, local laws and other
requirements in implementing and maintaining IOCC programs; ability to think strategically,
analyze issues, and make appropriate recommendations.
Education: University degree in relevant field of study from an accredited educational
institution, combined with additional training in community work will be an asset.
Experience: A minimum of 2-3 year experience in community work-based programs is preferred,
working with international/local development and relief organizations, preferably in the
country of assignment; focusing on community-based education and community work and
program implementation.
