  1. Background:

Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) is a UK-registered charity that has been reaching out to the Palestinian communities, striving to deliver health and medical care to those worst affected by conflict, occupation, and displacement. MAP provides immediate medical aid to those in need at times of crisis while also developing local capacity and skills to ensure the long-term development of the Palestinian healthcare system.

MAP’s vision is of a future in which all Palestinians can access an effective, sustainable, and locally led system of healthcare and the full realization of their rights to health and dignity.

In reference to the project titled:
“ Access to trauma, emergency care at the prehospital level, and mental health and psychosocial support services.” which is funded by the oPt Humanitarian Fund (oPt HF), MAP is seeking a field coordinator to coordinate the activities of the MHPSS on the field, primarily UNRWA Camps, and to monitor the delivery of emergency medical supplies to the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) Emergency Medical Services (EMS) station in Nablus City.

MAP would like to recruit one field coordinator to coordinate the MHPSS activities on the field mainly Balata and Askar UNRWA Camps in Nablus and monitor the delivery of emergency medical supplies for Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) Emergency Medical Services (EMS) station in Nablus City.

  1. Objective:

MAP seeks to recruit “Field Coordinator” in Nablus to provide technical assistance and monitor program activities in Balata and Askar UNRWA Camps and monitor the delivery of emergency medical supplies for the PRCS- EMS station in Nablus City, ensuring that all activities are conducted according to project guidelines and requirements.

Job Requirements
  1. Scope of Work:

The Field Coordinator has the following responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for project participants and coordinate their involvement.
  • Provide logistic and organizational support for MHPSS training for UNRWA health providers, MHPSS community sessions for caregivers, item deliveries, monitoring and evaluation, and other project events in coordination with project staff.
  • Liaise with partners and local community organizations.
  • Attend coordination meetings/ visits with the MAP - donor project staff.
  • Follow up on community activities' implementation in coordination with partners and project staff.
  • Monitor the delivery of emergency items process by coordinating with partners, MAP staff, and ensuring project procedures are followed, and all required documents are provided.
  • Collect data, submit progress reports, and make logistical arrangements in collaboration with project staff.
  • Document all program activities, achievements, and challenges in weekly templates and monthly reports.
  • Complete the safeguarding online training via kayaconnect.org and provide the completion certificate to MAP.
  1. Duration: The contract duration will be 5 months starting from December 15, 2023 - May 14, 2024
  2. Qualifications:
  • Resident at Nablus with the ability and need to travel regularly to field sites.
  • Diploma/bachelor’s degree in social science, health background is plus.
  • Previous experience working and coordination with local communities.
  • Good organizational skills, with the ability to multi-tasking including prioritization and ability to work under pressure.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good experience in monitoring implementation of program activities.
  • Good command of the English language both written and spoken.
  • Strong computer skills including ability to use MS office word, and emails.

Reporting and Payment Schedule: the payment will be made on monthly basis based on timesheet and progress report approved by the program manager/ officer.

  1. Ethical Considerations

Field coordinator will be required to adhere to MAP policies and ethical guidelines, including MAP’s safeguarding policy and code of conduct.
