About the position

 Job title: Field Coordinator Assistant

Post location: Gaza Strip, office in Deir Al-Balah

Starting date: ASAP

Contract duration: 6months renewable according funding

 Job Summary:

The Field Coordinator Assistant role involves supporting program coordination, team management, and security measures for Solidarités International in the intervention zone. Responsibilities include gathering security information, representing the organization at meetings, and coordinating communication activities.

 Job Description:

Security

  • Collect information within the Field Coordinator’s domain of responsibility by attending security briefings with – or in place of - the Field Coordinator
  • Carry out security checks for the clearance of team departures out into the field
  • Analyze information and inform the Field Coordinator
  • Make the weekly security pack and send it to the Field Coordinator
  • Establish informal ties and a network of contacts enabling the collection and verification of diverse information
  • Maintain an updated list of security contacts in the zone
  • Coordinate the weekly security briefing
  • Run the contextual and security briefing for new expatriates, in conjunction with the Field Coordinator
  • Supervise the management of communication materials
  • Supervise the strict implementation of communication/movements SOP

Human resources (if applied)

  • Recruit, support and manage the team under his/her supervision
  • Ensure good coordination between his/her team and other department
  • Initiate and carry-on daily capacity building
  • Conduct and ensure regular performance appraisal of his/her team

Representation

  • Under delegation of the Field Coordinator, represent Solidarités International during humanitarian and security coordination meetings
  • Ensure that Solidarités International’s message is conveyed during meetings in accordance with its mandate and programs
  • Regularly visit Solidarités International’s intervention sites

Humanitarian monitoring

  • Communicate between the local and/or international NGOs in accordance with the partitioning of contacts decided with the Field Coordinator
  • Under delegation of the Field Coordinator, attend meetings under his/her direct responsibility
  • Monitor the activities in the programs implemented in his/her intervention zone by comparing the evaluation, intervention and monitoring reports

Coordination

  • Upon request, draft minutes for meeting he/she attends
  • Draft the weekly situation report for the context/security section of the SitRep
  • Compile the weekly situation report and send it to the Field Coordinator
  • In the absence of the Field Coordinator, coordinate the weekly base meeting
  • Present the security context at the beginning of all weekly base meetings

Translation

  • On request, provide interpretation for conversations between the Field Coordinator, or other Solidarités International personnel and/or its contacts
  • On request, translate document related to security and other-related documents

Job Requirements

Studies:  Bachelor or equivalent, in political science or any relevant field

Experience: 2 years' experience in the sector, experience in safety context analysis and/or external representation is an asset

Languages: English professional working, fluent in Arabic

Skills:

  • Good analytic and writing skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills,
  • Knowledge of NGO coordination and understanding of program design
  • High level of computer literacy
