Field Social Services Officer

2. Duty Station : Relief and Social Services – Field Office - Jerusalem
3. Basic Salary : JD 837.1 that varies in accordance to the pay policies set by the Agency.
4. Allowances : Family Allowances payable up to 7 children and spouse. NIS 510 as Jerusalem Allowance payable in JD at exchange rates set by the Agency.
5. Other Benefits : Include Health Insurance and Provident Fund.
6. Qualifications :
a. Academic and Professional
• University degree in social science, including coursework in social development.
• Post-graduate coursework in one or more of the following: Poverty alleviation, women-indevelopment, community-based rehabilitation/integration of disabled persons, community development, local institution-building.
b. Technical
Basic computer literacy.
Experience
• Eight years’ progressively more responsible experience in the planning, implementation and evaluation of developmental social welfare programmes, involving one or more of the program areas listed under 4.1.2 and including at least three years’ supervisory experience.
• Practical experience in training staff and clients of such programmes.
• Participation in action-oriented social research.
Others
• A through knowledge of the social structure and culture of the Palestinian people.
• Leadership qualities.
• Willingness/ability to drive UNRWA vehicles in the course of duty.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
A post-graduate degree in socio-economic development, with emphasis on developmental social welfare.
