Job Description
Position: Field Supervisor
Location: Ramallah, with frequent travel to Qalqilya and Salfit governorates
Starting date: 1 July 2011
Contract period: 12 months

BACKGROUND
ACTED (Agency for Technical Cooperation and Development) is an international NGO registered in France. ACTED’s vocation is to support vulnerable populations affected by wars, natural disasters and/or economic and social crises, and to accompany them in building a better future. ACTED started its activities in the occupied Palestinian territory in May 2007, through food security interventions in the West Bank and then in Gaza. ACTED is currently implementing an EU-funded
project aiming at strengthening the capacity of rural cooperatives in Salfit and Qalqilya governorates.
GENERAL RESPONSABILITIES
Under the supervision of the Programme Manager, the Field Supervisor is in charge of collecting and analyzing field information to be used by the Programme Development and AME (Appraisal, Monitoring & Evaluation) departments.
KEY TASKS
-Conduct monitoring rounds and collect data from project beneficiaries
-Carry out field interviews, following ACTED guidelines, tools and methodology requirements
-Keep an up-to-date filing system of all questionnaires sorted by location
-Input data collected from questionnaires into the ACTED database
-Verify the accuracy and relevance of data collected in the field
-Regularly monitor the progress of beneficiaries
-Promote better farming and livestock practices among rural cooperatives
-Encourage exchanges between rural cooperatives and Labour Unions
-Conduct surveys and training sessions upon request
-Perform other tasks, as requested by Programme Manager
-Comply fully with ACTED standards and principles
REQUIRED SKILLS
-A university degree in Sociology, Community development, or related field
-Two years work experience in agricultural sector is preferable
-Previous work experience with NGOs in the field will be positively evaluated
-Professional attitude, good social skills, and ability to work in a team
-Accurate, reliable, open-minded, and a positive attitude
-Good in time management, and ability to work under pressure
-Willingness to improve skills and knowledge
-Capable in planning and problem solving
-Excellent communication and drafting skills
-Fluent in Arabic and English, spoken and written
-Good IT skills
-Driving license Comfortable with frequent travel in the West Bank
