Field Supervisor / Electrical Engineer

The Palestinian Agricultural Relief Committees (PARC) is implementing a project titles “Support livelihoods and improve food security of the farmers/breeders through mitigating the effects of the electricity shortage in the Gaza Strip Project”. This project is funded by the Humanitarian pool funds through UNOCHA.

The project aims to improve the livelihood and food security for 60 farmers/breeders through installing solar power systems for their farms.

The activities of the project aim at helping the vulnerable farmers to increases their accessibility to sustainable energy needed for Farm activities (Pumping water for agricultural land and lighting systems for poultry farms). To accomplish those objectives,

PARC is seeking qualified candidates to assume the following

Position Title: Field Supervisor / Electrical Engineer (Solar)
Base of Posting: Gaza Office
Period: 4 months with Possibility of Extension
Line Manager: Project coordinator.
Starting Date: ASAP

Responsibilities:

Conduct the technical assessment for the installation the solar systems for the farmers.
Prepare the detailed BOQ’s for Each Beneficiary/ system.
Supervise and monitor the installation of the solar units and other project activities.
Plan and conduct regular field visits to ensure proper activities implementation on the ground.
Participate in designing the distributed solar power systems.
Conduct meetings with local community representatives in cooperation with an agronomist to identify and select beneficiaries and the technical needs for each case.
Prepare an action plan in close cooperation with the Project Coordinator covering all activities and tasks as well as deadlines and responsibilities.
Develop practical work plans for contractors to implement solar systems activities in a timely manner ensuring a timely accomplishment of the project activities.
Monitor the usage of the solar units after full installation and operation.
Perform any other tasks deemed needed by the Project Coordinator relevant to the project activities.

Education / Experience / Language requirements:

First level university degree in Electrical Engineering or related subject.
More than 4 years of experience in the field supervising electrical project spatially solar (or clean) energy projects.
Be innovative, requiring minimal supervision in accomplishing tasks, identifying new essential ones, and developing creative solutions to perceived insurmountable problems.
Have very good computer skills in MS office.
Good command of English language (Reading, Writing and conversation).
Good communication skills, -Strong personality, Team work and ability to work under pressure.
Have very good Reporting skills
