Field Worker
Land Research Centre (LRC) is a registered independent non-profit, non-governmental organization that was founded in 1986 in Jerusalem as part of the Arab Studies Society. Today, LRC has three permanent branches in Hebron, Bethlehem and Nablus governorates. Since establishment, the center interventions and activities have always been consistent with the political, economic and social context of the Palestinian society.
LRC’s work aim to achieve self-dependency through developing technical and scientific capacities of the Palestinian official and non-official bodies including grassroots organizations; local authorities & ministries, creating an influence on policy and decision-making arenas.

As part of an RVO-funded project (LAS20PT1S) aiming at Improving Land Governance for Palestinian Farmers, Land Research Center is looking for a qualified professional to be hired as Project Field Worker for a period of 24 months (including 3-month probation).
Duty Station: West Bank - North Governorates
Main tasks and responsibilities
Main Responsibilities:
- Under the supervision of the Project Coordinator, implement project activities according to action plan and best practice; assess progress and suggest adjustments to activities and approach as required
- Build and maintain effective relationships with local CBOs, other international organizations, local authorities, and other stakeholders, and participate in official meetings to ensure visibility of project; and support stakeholder dialogue and coordination (upon designation).
- Conducting meetings with local community to identify and select beneficiaries.
- Preparing detailed sheets about beneficiaries, to include all the necessary information.
- Assessing target area of the project, before presenting it to the technical committee, so as to select beneficiaries.
- Presenting the results of the fist assessment of target area to the Project Coordinator, before the field visit by the technical committee.
- Preparing an action plan, and presenting it to the Project Coordinator, including all activities and tasks indicating the beginning and completion of each activity.
- Being present at the project site, monitoring project activities and directing them according to the action plan.
Other duties:
- In coordination with the PC and project staff, organize and coordinate with implementing partners the preparation of trainings, workshops, presentations, networking activities, awareness sessions, etc.
- In cooperation with the PC, the Administrative staff and the Logistician, validate purchase lists of all technical items and help in the selection of offers and in the distribution phase, ensuring the efficient on time implementation of the activities planned
- Contribute to qualitative reporting
- Conduct regular follow up field visits to beneficiaries and other stakeholders
- Participate and contribute to lessons learnt sessions and regularly share recommendation on the improvement of the ongoing or future projects activities
- Prepare minutes of meetings (MoM)
- Plan and organize daily tasks, coordinate and monitor on a daily basis their activities
- Ensure accountability; collect feedback from the field (local authorities, community members, beneficiaries, partners, etc.)
- Participate in the identification and design of future project interventions (including data collection and analysis for needs assessments, developing new proposals or segments of proposals)
- Write detailed reports of the activities & achievements to be submitted to the Project Coordinator;
- Upon request, ensure translation of key documents from Arabic to English and vice versa
- Perform any other additional duty on request of the Project Coordinator.
- Promote the rights of land tenure in line with the project communication strategy

Competencies
Generic professional competencies for this position:
- Practical experience for a similar job for at least one year
- Good English skills, Arabic, both written and verbal.
- Good computer literacy (Word, Excel, Power Point).
- Good attitude to teamwork and excellent ability to manage relations with stakeholders;
- Good organizational skills;
- Ability to adapt to difficult contexts;
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work in a team as well as independently.
- Experience coordinating with ministries and/or local non-governmental organizations/community-based organizations.
Context related skills, knowledge and experience:
- Minimum of bachelor in field of law, Rule of law, engineers, surveyors or another relevant field desirable
- Minimum of one-year relevant work experience in the field of Humanities or management fields
- Documented technical competences related to the position’s responsibilities
- Experience working on projects in development context in particular land governance.
- Knowledge of the context in Palestine
- Cultural sensitivity
- Knowledge implementing research activities and/or assessments and/or baseline, preferably on gender issues and rights to land tenure.
Specific requirements:
- Resident of the northern governorates (Nablus, Tulkarm, Tubas, Jenin) are preferable.
- Availability to travel to Hebron once or twice a month.
- Valid Driver’s license
- Availability of a car is A Plus.
