Oxfam and Consortium partners are seeking qualified fieldworkers (total 8 fieldworkers) to be part of a qualitative and quantitative field research in East Jerusalem. The research is aiming at measuring the attitudes change related to youth identity in East Jerusalem on a targeted number of youth living in the city as a result of an edutainment TV series produced by Oxfam. This deliverable is part of the activities of a consortium project entitled “Wujood; Strengthening the Resilience of Vulnerable Palestinian Communities in East Jerusalem” funded by the European Union.

The Project
Wujood means existence and presence. The project responds to the needs of some of the most vulnerable Palestinian communities in East Jerusalem, working on women’s social and legal rights, women’s economic empowerment, emergency preparedness, and youth identity. Although discriminatory Israeli policies continue to negatively impact the social, economic and cultural rights of Palestinians, the resilience of communities can be strengthened through the dedication and collaboration of partner organizations, CBOs, schools, women, youth and Palestinians living in East Jerusalem.
Wujood is the 2nd phase of the East Jerusalem Project funded by European Union (EU) and co-financed by Oxfam. It is a consortium project implemented by four Palestinian organizations who are working together in synergy to respond to the needs of Palestinian women, youth and other vulnerable groups in the Old City, Silwan, Esawiyyeh, Sur Baher, Al Tur. The project started in May 2016 and will end on April 2019. Implementing partners include: The Women’s Centre for Legal Aid and Counselling (WCLAC), the Palestinian Medical Relief Society (PMRS), and the Palestinian Counselling Centre (PCC), and the Palestinian Agriculture Development Association (PARC). The Edutainment TV Series is new edutainment initiative implemented under the Wujood Project targeting Palestinian youth living in East Jerusalem.
The fieldworkers will be responsible for:
- Identify beneficiary list, coordination meetings and filling the stakeholder and youth list, including youth mobilization in coordination with partners, CBOs, DoE and youth CSOs and under supervision of the projects’ coordinators.
- Coordinating locations and appointments with the youth for data collection and group discussions.
- Conducting a baseline and end-line questionnaire using a smart phone/digital data collection application.
- Conducting qualitative data collection
- Facilitate group discussions of minimum 12 youth in each group.
- Ensure participants are present for the group discussions and viewer groups and monitor the process and attendance.
The fieldworkers should have bachelor degree in social sciences or any relevant field, and at least two years of research experience including field work.
The fieldworkers will take intensive capacity building trainings on the specific applications and Qualitative methodology which they will use for the research, the trainings will be conducted in both English and Arabic, whereas the research will be conducted in Arabic.

Qualifications:
- Good knowledge of East Jerusalem Communities
- Strong coordination skills
- Strong facilitation of group discussion skills
- Ability to use Smartphones and data collection applications.
- Ability to conduct qualitative and quantitative data collection
- Ability to conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis
- Good command of English
- Commitment and flexibility in terms of working hours.
- East Jerusalem ID holder.
