Job Description
GVC (Gruppo di Volontariato Civile) is an Italian non-profit non-governemental organisation working in Palestine since 1992. For its base in Hebron, GVC invites candidates with relevant qualifications to apply for the position of:
FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
Start date: August 2009
Contract duration: 6 months (with possible extensions)
Base: GVC office in Hebron
The selected person, under the direct supervision of the Project Manager, will:
- assist the Administrator in the book-keeping related to GVC projects in Hebron area
- be responsible for GVC Hebron office cash and expenses
- prepare the monthly expenditure statement
-assist in the procurement and tender procedures
-be responsible for the management, maintenance and inventory of GVC Hebron office furniture and equipment
- prepare (and translate from Arabic into English and vice versa) letters, reports, minutes etc.
- keep contacts with institutions, partners and other actors, for issues related to contracts or agreements with GVC
- assist in the organisation of meetings and calls for tender
- be responsible for the project documents archiving
-screen and distribute incoming correspondence and communications
Required qualifications
- 3 years of experience as an Accountant or Finance and Administrative Assistant
-good knowledge of written and spoken Arabic and English
- good knowledge of MS Office and ability to use accounting software
Preferable:
- experience in working with international NGOs
-driving license
