Background on Tdh:
Tdh is a Swiss non-governmental organisation that has been implementing humanitarian projects in the Palestinian territory since 1973. It is the largest non-governmental organisation for children’s aid in Switzerland. It undertakes to support the most vulnerable members of society through child protection and juvenile justice projects. Tdh has development projects and emergency relief programs in 34 countries and currently has operations in Hebron, Bethlehem and Gaza.
Tdh is seeking to hire a Finance and Logistics Assistant (or Officer depending on experience level and available funding) to join its team in Jerusalem. The position will report directly to the Head of Finance, Administration and Coordination and providing regular support to the Country Representative and field offices.
Position Profile:
The incumbent will have the following responsibilities:
-Prepare the monthly close documents for bank and cash books.
-Number, settle, enter, and file the accounting records.
-Monitor bank accounts and process payments and fund transfers to field offices.
-Create ad-hoc financial reports.
-Follow-up with suppliers and vendors on finance and billing related matters.
-Participate in the preparation and carrying out of the annual audit.
-Prepare and pay income tax and national insurance declarations on a monthly basis.
-Prepare monthly payroll and follow-up with Tax Advisor on payroll-related matters.
-Distribute monthly pay statements to staff.
-Follow-up on pension and health insurance plans.
-Draw up employment contracts and amendments for existing and new staff.
-Perform the recruitment and dismissal formalities.
-Monitor the application of Staff Rules and Regulations.
-Maintain staff files and keep them up to date.
-Inform the Country Representative and Head of Finance & Administration of HR deadlines.
-Manage the procurement process through the different stages: orders, tracking, taking delivery, any customs clearance and conformity checks.
-Manage the office equipment, maintenance, and stationeries.
-Liaise with Israeli and Palestinian authorities to facilitate working permits, visas, access permits.
-Coordinate travel arrangements for local and expat staff.
-Receive and dispatch relevant security and safety information to staff.
-Provide formal orientation to visitors and coordinate security and safety training/briefings.
-Advise on unfolding security matters concerning the office or staff.
-Participate in the monthly AIDA subcommittee meetings.
-Undertake other duties that may be determined by his or her supervisor or Terre des hommes Country Representative.
Qualifications:
-A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a relevant degree is required.
-At least 3 years of experience in a similar position preferably with an NGO.
-Fluency in English, Arabic and Hebrew. The working language in the office is English.
-Knowledge and understanding of political environment and access restrictions.
-Excellent communication skills.
-Strong organisational and planning skills.
-Attention to detail is a must.
-Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
-Ability to manage day to day interactions with contracted external service providers.
-Valid Israeli Driving License.
-Jerusalem ID.
