I-Background on ACTED
ACTED (Agency for Technical Cooperation and Development) is a non-governmental organization with headquarters in Paris, founded in 1993. Independent, private and not-for-profit, ACTED respects a strict political and religious impartiality and operates according to principles of non-discrimination and transparency.
ACTED’s vocation is to support vulnerable populations affected by wars, natural disasters and/or economic and social crises, and to accompany them in building a better future; thus contributing to the Millennium Development Goals.The programs implemented by ACTED (more than 340 per year), in Africa, Asia, the Middle East, Latin America and the Caribbean, aim at addressing the needs of populations affected by wars, natural disasters and/or economic and social crises.
II-Country Profile
ACTED is currently implementing projects funded by ECHO, UN OCHA, and Europe Aid across the occupied Palestinian territory. ACTED strives to strengthen the economic capacities of cooperatives in rural areas, consolidate civil society organisations, and provide emergency assistance to the most vulnerable, rural communities in the West Bank. ACTED currently seeks a Field Supervisor for a one-year project that is implemented in the West Bank.
III-Position Profile
-Perform & Maintain Accounting Transactions.
-Prepare Bank reconciliations.
-Participate in bid awarding committee.
-Assist in preparing the budget and financial reports to the donor.
-Apply yearly fiscal count and maintain proper fixed assets records.
-Perform other tasks as requested by the Finance Officer.
-Audit all payment requests according to an audit plan to assure the compliance with the Financial Manual.
-Preparing Checks.
-Comply fully with ACTED standards and principles.
-Assist in daily financial issues for Office
-Assist in financial record keeping
-Handle base cash safe and record keeping
-Work with Logistics Officer in financial aspects of procurement.
IV-Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s Degree in finance, accounting, or related subject
-At least 1-2 years’ experience in Accounting/finance in local NGO's or international.
-Attention to Detail
-Previous cash management experience preferred
-Strong interpersonal and communication skills and proven ability to work in teams with diversity of background, skills, multi-cultural and multi-lingual environment.
-Ability to be creative and strategic for effective planning, problem solving and decision making.
-Good organizational and communication skills, in particular with rural communities
-Good in time management, and ability to work under pressure
-Excellent communication and drafting skills
-Ability to analyze financial data.
V-Conditions:
-Fluent in Arabic and English, spoken and written
-Excellent IT skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and internet functions).
