Job Purpose Summary
The Finance Assistant – is responsible for assisting the finance department in NRC, Jerusalem with cash payments and bank payment. He/she will be responsible directly to the Finance Coordinator.
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for Cashboxes in Jerusalem office
Prepare payment vouchers
Prepare cheques and bank transfers
Handle cash payments and cash advances
Ensure payments are done timely and correctly and recorded in cashboxes and tracking sheets for lawyers/Implementing Partners and the logistics tracking sheet.
Be familiar with NRC projects and accounts
Responsible of payments of utilities, and other cash payments.
Ensure that monthly tax and other obligations are paid to the Authorities.
Ensure that payments of rental contracts are done according to the rental contracts.
Responsible of Daily Cash Counting and reconciliation.
Responsible of Weekly reconciliation of bank.
Responsible for photocopying, scanning, and archiving documents in the file systems for the Finance Administration Department.
Assisting with the mobile bills and the distribution of them to staff and calculate staff payments for private calls.
Maintain a total list for Bank Accounts for NRC Palestine
Ensure updated signatory lists for NRC bank accounts and allocation of authorization rights for NRC staff.
Assist with other work within the Finance Department.
Qualifications and Competences
Academic and Professional Qualifications
Bachelor Degree in accountancy or related field
At least 3 years of experience in accountancy
Relevant work experience with Agresso is desirable
Experience with computers, particularly Excel and database programmes
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Very good command of English and Arabic, both written and orally;
Good knowledge of Hebrew will be an advantage
Ability to be flexible and resourceful
Ability to be always punctual and meet deadlines
Highly approachable, trustworthy and confidential
Ability to work under pressure, independently and with limited supervision
