Under the guidance of the Head of Office and direct supervisor the Finance Associate ensures the effective functioning of financial operations and systems in support of the programme and office management.
He/She works closely with programme and project staff providing financial monitoring and analysis of projects and advising managers on expenditure trends and implementation rates. The Finance Associate
• Works closely with programme and project staff providing financial monitoring and analysis of
projects and advises managers on expenditure trends and implementation rates.
• Supports the monitoring of programme financial performance for the project resources by
providing necessary financial information and analysis.
• Develops tools and mechanisms for effective and efficient monitoring of projects budgets,
coordinates compilation of financial data and provides accurate and up-dated financial
information to the Country Office on a continuous basis.
• Assists in the management of the project budget, controlling allotments, monitoring expenditures and preparing revisions as needed.
• Establishes effective relationships with internal and external clients.
• Ensures timely submission of financial reports by implementing partners and in accordance with the reporting requirements. Also, train partners on financial requirements, procedures and financial reporting as needed.
• Ensures effective financial recording and reporting system, internal control and process financial transactions in an accurate and timely manner.
• Reviews procurement requests for the Global fund programme and conduct procurement in accordance with UNFPA procedures
• Performs other duties as required

Academic Requirements and Experience
• Academic Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, and/or finance is preferable.
• Experience: At least 8 years of relevant experience in public or private sector, preferably
with the UN.
• Language: Fluency in oral and written English and Arabic, and knowledge of Hebrew.
• Computer skills: Proficiency in current office software application.
